I have no problem at all with your likes. I surely don't think everyone has to wear a suit. But I never feel that my tie is choking me.

In the country church I grew up in, we had people that dressed in suits, we had people who wore slacks and a shirt. That was the manner of dress for all men and boys who attended church there.

We had one deacon who was a farmer, he plowed with mules, he always wore a suit. We had another deacon who was a carpenter, he always wore a suit, we had another deacon who was the country tax collector, he always wore shirt and slacks.

I'm not one that thinks ever man and boy ought to wear a suit, but I think one ought to wear the best they have.

In years gone by many times on Wednesday night I would wear a none faded pair of jeans, they were pressed, a shirt, and a blazer. all my life I have wore jeans to work in, but I always have 2 pair set aside to wear for special occasions, when some of my work jeans need to be discarded, I start suing them for work, them replace them with new ones.

But when I wore those jeans, shirt, and blazer, I was wearing the best I had, I would never wear faded work clothes to church. I don't think anyone should.

So I am not like many, I do not think there ought to be a dress standard, but a church has to be careful, sometimes they have to put fort standards for the way children are dressed.

Oh, I have found that you will find some who dress up on Sunday, who only live like Christians on Sunday. You will find some who don't dress up on Sunday, who only live like Christians on Sunday. But you can reveres both of those and find some from each group who try to live Christ like each and every day.

And yes, you will find some who look down their nose at others, but you will find them in each group.

Something I find interesting, and you guys made me think of is denim, and fashion. I've read and heard and even to some extent seen for myself that the attitude towards denim that has changed over the years in the fashion world. Years ago denim was known as a very casual, or work fabric. Yet today, you can find article after article and shows and such explaining how to dress up your denim. People spend tons of money on denim, and expect to wear it as a bit of a dressier clothing. So, where a lot of folks, especially of previous generations, can't believe you would wear denim to church or to somewhere nicer, the younger generations will wear a blazer and a collared shirt (or cute top for us girls) and feel fine. Anyway.... just a thought...

I voted "don't really care", because neither dressing up nor down really bothers me all that much. I wear suits most of the time, jeans on the weekends. I will dress up for church because I think it conveys respect, but I agree with those who don't want Sunday services to turn into a fashion show.
