  1. Hey, long time no see you all. I know I haven't been around in a long time but, I am in the process of going through all my theology, christian living, and home school books and thought of you all. Someone here might be interested in some of them. I might try ebay or something if I have to but was trying to avoid that. I hope its ok to post this here, and that this is the right area. www.trinasworld.com/booklist.html
  2. I don't really care for the idea of arranged marriage, but I don't know that I can say its totally wrong... not a good idea, and its a very foolish parent that doesn't care what his child thing, but if you've been married by that means, thats now your spouse and you need to make the best of it. Thats where the command "Husbands, love your wives" and "that the older women, teach the younger women to love their husbands" because you CAN learn to love... remember this song?
  3. lol! oh, wow.... my head's spinning now!
  4. that was basically the understanding I came to. If I have a friend or something that I know has the problem, I'll try to help him out, but I can't guess what every guy I ever meet might have a strange problem with and accommodate them. I just need to do what is right, and then if they have a problem, its on them.
  5. An example of what you are trying to say. I went to a Bible college that in time past had a male staff member who had a problem when he saw the back of a womans foot because it made him think of her leg. So, they made a rule that said girls were not allowed to wear backless shoes (clogs, mules, anything). A girl could wear an ankle length skirt, but be wearing backless shoes and that caused that man to stumble. Was the girl being immodest? or did that guy have a problem that he needed to deal with?
  6. I might be wrong (its happened once or twice :Bleh ) but I've always been told the girding up was pulling the bottom back of the robe up between the legs and tucking it into their belt so when they were working the robe wouldn't get in their way, their legs were free to move, and no one could see up. But I've always been under the impression that when they were working, it was usually with other men, not with women around so it wasn't something that was done around the women (they wore a modest robe like the women did). In the NT though someone (Peter I think) was working on the ship naked th
  7. Another thought.... I've heard it said that if you can't do it modestly in a skirt, you shouldn't do it. (just food for thought is all :Bleh )
  8. Wow, I wasn't going to add anything but thought I'd add a couple of thoughts for you all.... 1. You can wear a skirt and be plenty warm in winter... I've done it a million times. You just have to learn how to dress. 2. I've been told that tights were a mans garment first in the Victorian era, and that pants worn alone was actually a womans clothing first in the Asian culture. The man wore the robes, and the women wore the pants. There were missionaries who had to have womens meeting separate because the Chinese woman wouldn't listen to the white woman because she only wore a skirt and they
  9. Its gotten pretty warm here. Up to about 40! Everything is WET from all the melting snow (which makes a nice ice glaze come morning).
