Yes, I could see that happening in our own extended family under strained circumstances. :sad

You are not alone as I could see such a possibility of such with my own.

There are some in my family who don't like that our children are not involved in the "big and wonderful" kids and youth programs at the bigger church here in town. That church is entertainment driven and is little more than a social club with a religious veneer. They have insinuated that our children would be better off if we were not "forcing" them to attend our church and have tried to talk us into letting them go to the other church with their kids. They have got rather testy about this in the past.

Sadly, some of my family members think they are okay with God simply because they were baptised. That church basically teaches that baptism gets one to heaven. :sad Of course, they see me as just a nut when I try to point out what Scripture actually says about the matter.
