Was Spurgeon a Freemason?

Someone told me that C.H. Spurgeon was a Freemason. I haven't found definitive information on this. Was he? Thanks

I've never heard of it. If anyone has information on this, I'd love to read it.

I've seen a lot of pages suggesting that he was, but, they are short on any verifiable truth. So, I would take it that he was NOT a Mason. He was fully orthodox in his Christian faith and practice, so I take it as just another smear job against a sound preacher.
