:praise: sister! I know several families that are home schooling their children. They have their kids involved in Christian activities...along with the home school program. Abeka or ACE are wonderful programs! You can't go wrong with either one. :thumb Praying for the Lord to send Kayla a good Godly IFB husband...ya can't blame a girl for tryin'. :loll: :pray :thumb

ACE is definitely not my favorite....Just a personal opinion. I can't handle the way they teach some subjects. I believe until High school I will teach my children with a variety of curriculum.

I have one friend that teaches ACE...but, I gave her ALL of my teaching materials from the various grades that I taught over the past 16 years...I mostly have 5th grade level, though. She and her husband are down in Columbus this weekend for the Home Schooling Conference. The other 2 gals I know use Abeka. These are the only 2 that I really know of. Whatever you are comfortable with is what you do... ya know what I mean? I am sure their are plenty to chose from. :thumb

Its amazing to me, a 61 year old grandfather, at what today's parents will do.

The in thing here is to drop off your children at the local Wal-Mart Super Store. Yes that is where the children who are to young to drive meet up, they gang up with their friends at Wal-Mart. Wonder how many times they dare one another to do something they should not?

Sad thing is, children will lie to their dad and mom, even good children who have been completely trust worthy will do this. They just do not understand the dangers and do not realize their parents are trying to keep them safe and the rules they lay down is for their safety.

No??? "Even good children lie to their parents'??? :lol :loll: Some parents don't have a concept of this, unfortunetly. They think that Little Tommy is the "bestest boy in the whole wide world"...and, would never do anything wrong. :roll :uuhm:

My niece tried to lie to me one time about a friend and where she was going. I pulled her back into the car and told her friend she would not be staying the night. Drove her straight home to her mom...I know I am such a bad aunt :frog

I love how Abeka teaches English. However, Abeka is quite expensive....

I have heard about the expense of Abeka...but, I also heard that it is well worth it. :thumb These kids are way above the national average...they say. Well, a friend of mine uses it, and she can't wait till they update it a tad bit. The teacher looks very 80ish' looking. Her 2 boys haven't noticed it yet, but she felt they would when they got a lil' older.
