we just got home from a prayer breakfast.  the plan was to pack the car and leave for our cabin for a much needed rest.  well, hubby went out to water plants and discovered that our strawberry plants are gone.  he continued looking around and found a container of liquid out back of our garage with a rag sticking out of it.  we have called the police and are waiting for them to get here.  now I am concerned about leaving, because if we do there will not be anyone to keep an eye on our place.

hubby now believes it is the beginnings of a meth lab.  the police don't seem to be in a hurry to get here.

no.  it's been over 7 hours and the cops still haven't shown up.  hubby called the fire chief, and he was on his way home from 2 hours away and is supposed to stop in.  hubby said he sounded upset no one had shown up to check it out.  hopefully he will be able to tell us something.

West Virginia isn't that big of a State, they could have sent a cop from anywhere in the State and they should have been there before now!

No wonder crime goes on so and so many criminals are bold enough to do their wicked deeds even in daylight.

Continuing in prayer...

our neighborhood watch commander told us to call again and ask for a supervisor.  officer was here within 20 minutes.  he told us it wasn't a meth lab.  they were stealing our gardening supplies because this is the time of year people move their marijuana plants indoors.  they were stealing our potted plants, dumping out the plants and taking the soil, and the pots.  which explains why they took the trowel too.  it is crazy.  hubby has set up some "obstacles"  because we expect them to come back for their booty.  the officer says it looks like they were interrupted.  hubby might have scared them off this morning when he took the dog out.  he says now that the dog was acting strange, running all over the yard and sniffing at stuff.  we'll see what the morning brings....

while WV is a small state, you can't get anywhere in a direct route unless you use a helicopter.  we give our distances in minutes, not miles ;)

well, hubby was up every half hour and there was no activity.  in January we had someone try to steal the copper out of our air conditioner and hubby interrupted him and chased him down the road.  he never caught him, but later saw a guy dressed just like the one he chased at our neighbor's house.  he went over to check things out and it was the neighbor's son and he was scared when he saw hubby walking up to him.  We are pretty sure he was the one who did it, but could never prove anything.  This guy is into drugs.  He doesn't live at his father's house any more (his father also believed he was the one who did this and felt really bad about the incident) but he does drop in and spend the night once in awhile.  Well, hubby saw him over at his father's house yesterday, and when he saw hubby in the back yard where all this was going on, he hurried back into his father's house.  Also, whoever was stealing our plants knows our place very well, because they were pulling up plants hubby had planted in the ground still in their pots.  Only someone close to our house who is familiar with us would know that. *sigh*

On a positive note, they KNOW you are faithful to attend church!

Nothing is sacred to those heavily into the drug culture, whether heavily addicted to the drugs or the money. They will target the easiest means of getting what they want. Unless there is something to deter them, they will be back when they want more.
