Once again we see the Republicans for who they are. As usual, Republicans ran for office claiming they would fight against and stop the liberals, particularly Obama. As usual, once in office the Republicans have done the opposite. They continue on this course even now as they fight many Dems in congress to give Obama fast track approval for a Pacific trade deal.

The Republicans, who claimed Obama can't be trusted, that Obama is bad for America, that Obama can't negotiate well, that Obama must be hemmed in, are now fighting all out to grant Obama a nearly blank check to make a major trade deal.

Not only does this fly in the face of their previous statements, it flies in the face of the Constitution which places such mattes in the hands of congress to change, amend or reject.

Dems or Repubs, they both lead America towards the cliff.

May we wake up, get in the Word, spend real time in fasting and prayer, put our time, talent and treasure into spreading the Gospel, giving ourselves to the one true means of bringing worthy, eternal change both here and abroad.

Sad, very few Christians share your beliefs.  It seems they put more faith in who the president will be and his abilities to fix today's problems then the amount of faith they put in the Creator.

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of [this] life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier... II Timothy 2:4

With the media giving more focus to the presidential election, and more people joining the race, I've noticed more Christians are once again consumed with the idea if they can just get a Republican elected as president then America will be saved and Christians can sit back and live in peace and prosperity.

When it comes to the Dems most Christians are quick to attack even their tiniest fault yet are willingly blind to the faults of Republicans; even when their faults are the same as the Dems!

Donate time and money to a Republican political rally, candidate or cause and the Christians are all in. Try to get these same Christians to attend a prayer meeting, a soul winning campaign, or sometimes even a regular church service and they are suddenly busy.

Christians having put away holy living, having set the things of this world above the things of God, having covered their light with a bushel, having hoarded their salt to themselves, have allowed and continue to allow this country to become a center of sin.

Christians yoking with the ungodly and doing things the worlds way isn't the answer to America's (or other nations) problems. Scripture tells us what we must do but that seems to be what we (Christians) are unwilling to do.

I have to agree with robmac.  We wrestle not against flesh and blood.  This "Christian America" business has gotten out of hand.  Any government is meant to establish order.  That includes Mexico, France, England, here etc.  That's what they do.  They don't like disorder and chaos. For the most part.  I think.  No one that's a government official likes that.  They will move to establish order quickly.  They aren't there to meet anyone's policy whims or agenda.  But to establish order with ordinances and such.

So I will try to move on with this.  WE are a Holy Nation.  Of course a government need not be concerned with us.  Because we live by a much, much higher standard. That God wants us to live by.   The only way to solve anything with anyone.  Is not duking it out.  But preaching the Gospel.  The Gospel saves.  Once again.  For myself.  I use a strict New Testament,  Bible interpretation when it comes to thinking about government.  There are way to many heresies out there for me to regard government.  In any other way but God's way.

So the Republicans ran for control of congress during the last election by proclaiming Obama can't be trusted, is bad for America, and with the promise if Republicans controlled the congress they would halt Obama in his tracks.

Then Obama demands fast track trade negotiation authority which basically avoids the constitution and takes oversight out of the hands of congress where such deals constitutionally belong, and the Republican leadership fights tooth and nail to get this approved.

When needing election votes the Republicans cry about Obama being untrustworthy and needing to be stopped by the Republicans. After the election the Republicans hand Obama even more unchecked power and authority over a major sector of the economy and America's future.

Again, what hope is there in voting for either Party when both are simply different wings on the same rotten bird.

How much better our time could be spent spreading the Gospel at political rallies than in trying to drum up support for more of the same.
