First posting - I happened in all honesty to stumble across this site a couple of weeks ago. I would say that theres alot that goes on here and could be useful. Where to start, well, Good question. To my knowledge I don't know of anyone on site. I briefly had some communication with Samer about a week ago or so, but thats all . My background is Salvation Army, Independent Baptist, and Assemblies of God. I am not a preacher. My background is all before my mid teens. Further more I think I'm on the right track but second guess myself all the time. I am no saint by any means. I've believed in Jesus along time, but living as he did, I have not. Whats even crazier is that sometimes I feel like don't deserve Salvation. I look at my life and alot of things don't add up. Theres alot of shame that I rightfully deserve. I feel like I can relate to Paul alot, but I often condemn myself. Growing up I heard and saw all kinds of things. Even in a IBC. I know confusion and fear is not of God. So Lets start there.

You're on the right track. No one deserves salvation. :thumb There is no way any of us could do anything good enough to earn it, that's why [bible]Ephesians 2:8-9[/bible] is in the Bible. It's only by the grace of God that any of us are saved.

If you haven't done it already, I'd suggest you get down on your knees and ask God for salvation. It's really simple, and I can tell by your post that you're ready to get saved (if not already). Just let us know if you have any questions. Anyone here will be able to help you. :smile

Oh, and welcome to OB!

Welcome to Online Baptist, Truthseeking. It sounds like your Christian roots are strong, and the IFB church will certainly guide you on your spiritual journey as you seek to do the Will of God. LOL...we are all sinners (saved or unsaved.) And, as Princess said..."no one deserves salvation." Don't worry about the "confusion" that you get...you are right...it is NOT from God. Satan loves this tool. Conviction (convincing) is of the Holy Spirit, and it sounds like you are well on your way to living a Christ-filled life. It isn't easy...it is difficult some days. However, Jesus knows our hearts... as no one else does---not even us. Please don't let the world get you down. John 14:6...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. KJV 1611 AV.

THE PLAN OF SALVATION...Made simple:

1) Romans 3:10---Admit that you are a sinner and deserve Hell.
2) Acts 17:30---Be willing and able to turn from sin through repentance (walk away from it).
3) Romans 10: 9-10---Believe (heart, soul, and mind) that Jesus died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead.
4) Romans 10:13---Pray and ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and become your personal Saviour (Lord of Lord and King of kings).

You might say a prayer like this one (you must mean it).

Dear Heavenly Father ~

I know that I am a sinner and I need your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross of Calvary and died for my sin. I am willing and able to turn to you and confess my sin. I invite Jesus Christ to come into my heart to take up residence. I need and want Him to become my personal Saviour. I want to become a Christ follower. :amen:

Also, once you are saved (and, you might already be saved) you are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. You have "Eternal Security"...and, no one can take salvation away from you. Once saved...always saved. :thumb

Jesus Christ will live forever in your heart, and the "Fruits of the Spirit" will become evident as you grow from a "babe in Christ" to a "mature Christian." God bless you as you seek His face.
