Moderators Ukulelemike Posted December 9, 2014 Moderators Share Posted December 9, 2014 Actually, I am impressed you can do it this way. never had the ability to wrap my brain around chess, so really I appreciate those who can. My idea of tactics is swing the bat and then run and hope you got something, so chess definitely isn't for me. Carry on, gentlemen.
Members Alan
Covenanter, You presume correct; kt-F6. 1. White P-D4, Black P-D5 2. Whilte P-C4, Black Kt-F6 3. White CxD(P), Black- KtxD4(P) This is my first time playing chess by e-mail and the chess board numbering system so please bear with me. Members Covenanter
1. White P-D4, Black P-D5 2. White P-C4, Black Kt-F6 3. White CxD (P), Black- KtxD4 (P) .... that has to be D5 4. White P-E4, Black P-G6 ...... and that leaves your Kt en prise 5. White P,E4xKt, which effectively ends the game. Were your intentions clear? Do you prefer the other notation system which would give the game as: 1. P-Q4, ==== P-Q4 2. P-QB4, === Kt-KB3 3. PxP ===== KtxP 4. P-K4 ==== P-K Kt3 5. PxKt
Members Alan
OBviously my intention was not clear. I understand a major piece was sacrificed; but it was sacrificed for position. With your King exposed; my King well defended, and you now have two pawns, undefended, in a row. I am not sure how that effectively ends the game. But, a better player, like yourself, against a weaker opponant, would prOBably win it nontheless. So, a win for you. Thank you for the better notation example. Thank you for the better notation example. You've justified your knight sacrifice, so if you wish, we can continue the game & you can prove me wrong. You can also prove yourself the better player. 1. P-Q4, ==== P-Q4 2. P-QB4, === Kt-KB3 3. PxP ===== KtxP 4. P-K4 ==== P-K Kt3 5. PxKt ==== You may wish to start another game as white, & play both at the same time. 1. Members Alan
As of now I have too many other duties to perform to continue. You win the game. Maybe another game in the future.
