That is a fair statement. And silly of me, too.

 

Yet, as I assume you have read the New Testament,

it should come to your memory that there were no

'calling upon the name of the Lord for salvation' experiences.

Do you know of any?

:ot:  a little bit here but... we separate from Catholics because (well one of many reasons is) their view of atonement, imputed vs infused, yet Calvinists/baptists (yes I say there is a difference) wont separate from each other on views such as this, regeneration, who can be saved etc. I would think that both camps would label some level of heresy on the other. As one gospel message is extremely different than the other, so much so that only one can be correct. Either all can be saved or only those whom God has preselected, Hard/soft determinism and free will cannot both be right and have extremely contrary origins on evil, the prOBlem evil, and God character.
