I had a recurring dream as a child: Bigfoot was chasing me and I was on a treadmill, every time he got close enough to grab my shoulder, I awoke. Since then, I have always known he was real.

Put away the childish stuff folks. These signs/wonders are all imaginary. The Spirit convicts through Scripture-no extra way. Now these folks may have had a dream after hearing the Gospel but not before and that dream wasn't the Lord coming to them in some way other than He always comes to folks by conviction of the Spirit. Sounds like a some new charismatic-calvinist group is forming somewhere. See it for what it is.

True story.  I had a dream that there was a group of people standing around crying.  It was dark and raining out.  I asked the group why they were crying.  They said "he's been dead for a couple days now and no one knew.  After they said that, I looked to my right and saw coroners taking a body away in a body bag.  End of dream.

About a week later, I get a message from my sister on my answering machine.  She said "go to ma's house, it's an emergency."  It was dark and raining out.  I get there and my mom, dad and sisters were standing in the kitchen crying.  I asked what was wrong. They said my brother died and he's been dead for a couple days in his room and no one knew.  I looked to my right and the coroners were taking my brother's body out in a body bag.

I don't believe in premonitions or physic abilities.  Some people I told this to thought God was preparing me.  I don't think that's true.  I wasn't close to him at all and we didn't have a relationship.  99.9% of my experiences with my brother were not good.  He was abusive and had psychological issues.  This is probably horrible to say but I was actually relieved that he was gone.  So, why did I have a dream about his dying before it happened?  So bizarre.

I agree with what these people were saying, Laura.  Before my mom died, on December 4th, I had dreams, every night, for at least two weeks about her and my childhood, early adulthood, and adulthood.  The rest of my family were in those dreams, as well.  I do believe it was God preparing me for her death.  It helped me a lot.

There is nothing "extra biblical" about the Lord choosing to speak to someone through a dream. There are plenty of examples of such in Scripture and throughout Christian history.

The Lord can speak to us through a dream, a still small voice, our conscience, a sudden 'thought', and it's all still the Lord speaking to us.

While it may not be devil himself shooting a dare of fire at us, he has plenty of devils (demons) out and about to do such and if they can shoot a thought into our minds while awake, it's possible they could do the same when asleep at times.

Scripture doesn't say we should only pray for protection from the Enemy when we are awake, or that the Enemy leaves us alone when we sleep. Just as we need to be on guard while awake, we need to set a guard while we sleep.

I've had times when I woke up from a troubling dream in the middle of the night and just "knew" I needed to pray for someone right then. At times I've found out later there was very good reason for that. Those times I've not yet found out why is likely due to no direct contact with the person.

Yes, the Lord can speak to us as we sleep.

I was saved after an Epileptic seizure, in the hospital.  However, the Lord was already preparing me for salvation.

Maybe the HS is telling you to work out.  LOL!  Just kidding.  Just for the record, I only mentioned some dreams I was having. Don't know anything about signs and wonders or demon possession.  Just having some weird dreams.

I know, no big deal to me really, just typing with some time on my hands today. Try some indian food and then report back the next day. Those dreams will be doozies.

No thanks.  I want glittery dreams of butterflies and rainbows.  :-)

It can be so many different things.   It can be health problems, or drug side effects.   Or it can be demonic oppression.  When I was little, our home had demonic oppression until we got into church, and I remember having absolutely terrifying nightmares.

You can also have a sort of half-waking state that is kind of scary.   I get it occasionally if I fall asleep on my back.  It's where part of your brain is asleep but part is awake.  So you feel awake, but you cannot move--it's like you are paralyzed and it's very scary and feels demonic...but I looked it up and it's just a weird half wake/half sleep thing.  I experienced it a few times while pregnant, as it kind of goes along with not sleeping well.

Remembering a dream depends on when you wake up.  Dreams are during REM sleep and if you wake up during REM sleep then you will remember your dream.  If you do not wake up fully after REM sleep, then you will not remember any of your dreams and you will feel like you had a "dreamless" sleep.   Usually I only remember my dreams if I sleep more lightly, like an afternoon nap...but not usually at night, these days.  So if you are not sleeping well, due to medicines or sleep apnea or any other reasons, you can feel like you are having more issues with dreams and things.
