Book: The Light And The Glory

I have just started reading this book and was wondering if others out there have read it.  Can you give me an general comments?

I assume you are referring to Peter Marshall's book about the founding of America?

I read it initially many years ago and then a second time about three or 4 years ago.

Excellent book in my opinion, I have recommended it to others

Try America in Crimson Red.  Good read!

Peter Marshall may have some good insights, but they completely overlook Baptist contributions to the founding of America.  Two books I recommend for this:

 

What Hath God Wrought - Dr. William Grady

America in Crimson Red - James Beller

I've also read Crimson Red and it was very good. Very thorough and very good appendix and bibliography with each reference numbered  throughout the book at the exact place the reference is indicated. Better than at the end of a chapter because his chapters are long and very detailed and numerous references within each chapter.

James Beller came to our church last year and got me interested in Baptist history. Now I have a few more to my collection.
