Jews Mistrust Christians

Advocates for improved relations between Jews and Christian evangelicals had hoped that years of working together to support Israel would build bridges between the two otherwise distant communities. But a new poll indicates that mistrust and suspicion still run deep, at least on the Jewish side.
Only one in five Jewish Americans holds favorable views of those aligned with the Christian right, a category that includes most of Israel’s evangelical supporters.
“Most liberal Jews view the Christian right as wanting to impose a Christian America on them,” said Marshall Breger, professor at the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law and leading voice on inter-religious relation. “To the extent to which the bulk of Jews are liberal, both politically and culturally, they’ll have negative views of the Christian right.”
“The Christian right has a clear agenda for America that it is trying to advance in all levels of American politics, and this has to do with fundamental questions of our existence, such as church and state separation,” said Rabbi David Saperstein, head of the Reform movement’s Religious Action Center. In contrast, Catholics, Mormons and Muslims, as well as Orthodox Jews, have not taken their conservative beliefs beyond their own communities.

The Christian and Jew conflict is as old as Christianity. In the beginning, it was the Jews who attempted to build a bridge to the Gentiles by insisting the Gentiles become Jews, “And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved” (Acts 15:1). This was strongly opposed by the apostles’ council. Peter warned, “Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they” (verses 10-11).
Today’s Jews, mostly liberal in their political and religious philosophy, seem to sense that the “Christian right” has political goals in mind. They hear and read much about the intent of some Christians to create a “Christian America,” but the Bible makes no provision for a Christian political identity.
However, the real bridge between Jews and Christians does not need to be created because it already exists. Paul writes in Romans 11:18, “Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.” Thus we see the Church and Israel organically belong together; but spiritually, the Church, consisting of Jews and Gentiles, signifies a new nation, an eternal one.
It is interesting to observe that many well-meaning Christians desperately attempt to do which they condemn, such as Islamic States for the Muslims, or a Hindu Republic for the Hindus. They continue to insist on a “Christian America,” which never was, nor ever will be.

They also hate christian Jews. A Jew who is converted will be thrown out of their family and a funeral would be held for him He is considered dead.
