I like how one Cain supporter put it on facebook. He said, "The first time I voted for Obama to prove that I'm not racists, now I'm not voting for Obama to prove that I'm not an idiot."

The question is, how many voters will stop watching the mainstream media and look into candidates on their own? Hopefully people like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck will give their listeners more details on the "smaller but more conservative" candidates.

I still don't know enough about Cain, but I'd LOVE to see a black Rep run against Obama if for no other reason but to banish the race card. Black man against (half) black man.... they can duke it out like...well...black men! Although Obama sounds more "educated" than Cain as far as speech. Cain talks more like any other black guy.... so he would have to prove he can run the country. His "lack of experience" would be the biggest blight on his record.

Most people are followers. If Cain keeps showing good in these polls he will get more media attention which will draw more supporters. If he gains enough of this, many voters will flock to him simply because they see him gaining such sudden attention.

This, in part, is what happened with Obama. Until Obama's win in Iowa nobody thought he would show well at all. It was assumed the nomination was virtually a lock for Hillary. When Obama scored that win in Iowa he was suddenly big news and the masses of followers began jumping his direction.

For a great many voters, I believe they are tired of the arrogant, uppity manner in which Obama talks and would greatly welcome a more "common man" speaker. This was one of the "attractions" of Sarah Palin which gathered her a quick following, her "down home" way of talking.

Sarah Palin could have done VERY VERY well, I feel, if she would have continued to be Governor and taken things more seriously rather than get involved in reality tv shows and such.

I agree that much of what she has done in the past couple of years has not been helpful. Her reality show, which I know she hoped would show people she's just a "normal person", actually turned off many of her supporters and potential supporters.

She may be content to stick with the money-makers she has going right now and possibly being vote getter for one of the current candidates; maybe with an eye for a spot in their administration. Time will tell.
