Some of you long time members may remember Micki Harjo...I don't think she was ever on this board but she was on a related board a long time ago....anyway they are missionaries out in New Mexico on an Indian Reservation. She's 42 years old....in December she was diagnosed with colon cancer. Last week she went in for surgery to remove the cancer...well it seemed to go well but then there were complications and it seems that she is dying right now. Last I heard they are running brain scans to check for any activity and then will be removing the ventilator when her mom arrives.

Very sad.....things happened fast...and then a semi routine surgery turned into death. Life is indeed a vapor. Sobering....though she is going to Heaven very soon, its still sad for the family. She had a 3 or 4 year old little girl, sort of one of those "older age" things that happen...plus 6 other children that she will be leaving behind, and a few grandchildren. :-(

I thought of these 2 song, seems they kind of fit the tone of this topic, for we neave know who will be next, maybe me, maybe you, yet thanks to the grace of God and our faith in Jesus, we know Who hold Tomorrow.

"Maybe It’s You, Maybe it’s Me"

Someone will get a blessing as promised by the Lord,
Someone will them rejoice and happy be;
Someone will be broken and crying mournfully,
Maybe its you, and maybe its me,
Maybe its you, and maybe its me,
Who’ll be the next to face eternity,
When the day has come and gone,
He will take somebody home.

Someone will be in sorrow and tears will start to fall,
No comfort, peace nor happiness they’ll see,
Some one will have their troubles, be filled with misery,
Maybe its you, and maybe its me,
Maybe its you, and maybe its me,
Who’ll be the next to face eternity,
When the day has come and gone,
He will take somebody home.

Someone will die tomorrow, as many have today,
This life is so uncertain, we can see,
Someone the call will answer, we know not who ‘twill be,
Maybe its you, and maybe its me,
Maybe its you, and maybe its me
Who’ll be the next to face eternity
When the day has come and gone
He will take somebody home.

"I Know Who Hold Tomorrow"

I don't know about tomorrow,
I just live from day to day.
I don't borrow from it's sunshine,
For it's skies may turn to gray.
I don't worry o'er the future,
For I know what Jesus said,
And today I'll walk beside Him,
For He knows what is ahead.

Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.

Ev'ry step is getting brighter,
As the golden stairs I climb;
Ev'ry burden's getting lighter;
Ev'ry cloud is silver lined.
There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dim the eyes,
At the ending of the rainbow,
Where the mountains touch the sky.

Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.

I don't know about tomorrow,
It may bring me poverty;
But the One Who feeds the sparrow,
Is the One Who stands by me.
And the path that be my portion,
May be through the flame or flood,
But His presence goes before me,
And I'm covered with His blood.

Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.

Sad, 42, a short life, but she can now live forever.

I tired to find all of the few post she made here but it did not show them. And the web site listed in her profile is gone, but I found this and this.

I've lost one of my mentors, he died of brain cancer, he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher, and song leader, a faithful church member, retired from the Air Force. He got 79 years on this earth. His funearl is tomorrow and I've got to go out of tonw in the morning for doctors appoitment and hope I get back in time.

Yet its not the number of years that counts, what counts is how we run the race.

1Co 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
