My wife ordered a five season set of "Daniel Boone" from the old tv series for me. It is really good to watch some good, wholesome movies without any filth in them. She got it from Christianbook.com (Christian Book Distributors) at a very good price (on sale!). Each series has eight disks with four episodes, so it will keep me busy for a long time. Good company, and they stand behind their products.

We have used CBD for years - started back when we were homeschooling our son. I do love the range of items they have available.

We've seen the Daniel Boone series and wondered about it. Someone told us they ordered it but there were some things on there that weren't good. Don't know what they were talking about, but could you let us know what you think when you're done with it?

We got a set of 80 episodes of The Rifleman. My hubby had never seen that when growing up, and so really liked it. There were a few episodes we had to turn off, but we marked them on there. We really like the relationship portrayed between father and son in that series (other than the times Mark takes it upon himself to disOBey his dad).

I really liked the Rifleman series, didn't know they offered it. What did you have to cross out? was it the rebellion of "Mark" the boy? Our kids are all gone now, so I can live with that.

The Daniel Boone series is good , nit a cuss word or anything questionable (except "scalping"), but they may have been referring to series one,. A few of the episodes mess up and go back to the beginning menu instead of finishing. that is supposed to be only in series one though. I am only half-way thru series 2 right now, but if anything (we do not even watch them if they swear) is amiss, I will post it (Hopefully I don't forget!)

irishman - no, there were a few episodes involving some women who weren't dressed properly. We often loan our dvd's out to folks, and don't want them being surprised by something like that. It's up to them if they want to watch, but we like to forewarn. No, the times Mark went his own way aren't crossed out. Kids do that kind of thing, so, to me, it would be a time to discuss why it's important to OBey.

Thanks, I'll look forward to what you think. It might be a nice Christmas gift for my hubby. He loves westerns. :icon_mrgreen:

Rick - a lot of people do. They were both influential in American history. Crockett even went to Congress. Boone is somewhere back in our family tree, and our son used to get confused and say it was Crockett. :icon_mrgreen:

Just finished the series on Daniel Boone. It was very good. these movies were actually made when I was in the Army, and just previous to that, in the late 60's. I recommend them for family entertainment; no explicit scenes, no swearing (a rarity in movies today!), nothing too humanistic; a little talk of "scalping" though, and a lot of shooting. Fess Parker does an excellent jOB portraying Boone.

The first series has some flaws, but they know about it, and will give a discount on the price if you call them. (See my previous post). We had two episodes that were messed up, and either froze or went back to the menu page before they were finished, but you get enough in the entire series to make up for it, if you like westerns, etc.

We were completely satisfied with them.

Thanks for letting us know. :icon_mrgreen: We don't watch often, but my hubby loves westerns, and since we only have 2 of the Rifleman left...

I always get Davey Crockett and Daniel Boone mixed up.

Fess Parker played both of them--I get Fess Parker confused with Clint Walker though, I think they look and act a lot alike.

Happy, I like the old westerns too. I have Wagon train series, Lone ranger (15 episodes), and the (Cisco Kid 15 episodes) and several other random episodes of other westerns. the "oldies" are usually beat--no cussing, no sensuous scenes, etc.
