Hey guys, I blogged this, I thought you might get a kick out of it. The full story is on my blog (you can click the link in my signature to go there) and includes pictures...

So when people find out that I wrote a book, especially when they find out it's a commentary on Revelation, they jump to a couple of conclusions. First, that I'm really smart. Secondly, that I think I'm really smart and full of myself.

Neither one is true. I'm just a guy who is willing to put in the work necessary to solve prOBlems and explain things in the Bible in a way that is easy to understand and read. It has nothing to do with being "smart", I just have a desire to learn. I'm not even really all that creative, if I was creative I'd write a novel not a commentary!

Back to me not being smart and also not thinking that I'm smart. I say and do enough stupid things on a regular basis that I don't really have a prOBlem with pride.

Let me tell you my recent escapade....

Your story was very funny (although I'm sure not so funny to those involved at the time)!

If you don't mind my asking, do you have plans to publish your book for Kindle ebook readers? https://dtp.amazon.com/mn/signin

:) Ya, it was a pretty frustrating and humorous day, to say the least. As far as ebooking, the publishing company I'm hoping to use is just now getting into the ebook market. If I'm accepted by them, then ebooking is definitly something I would like to pursue.

I don't have a Kindle, but I've heard they're incredibly popular right now. I like the old fashioned way of holding a book in my hand, what do you like about Kindle that appeals to you?

I like the convenience of having access to many books in a single slender device. I read voraciously (I don't have a television so reading is my primary leisure activity. Purchasing regular books and finding a place to store them in my small apartment is not easy. Kindle books are generally less expensive as well, which is an additional blessing. I also appreciate the ability to purchase books and download them immediately.

I would love to see more books expounding good Biblical teaching available on ebook readers.

Yes. I have quite a few bookmarked pages with little annotations I have written for many different books I have read. You can actually see all your bookmarks and annotations all together in a list if you want to, which can be nice if you are trying to remember a particular note or passage that struck you but you aren't sure where in the book it is.

Another feature that I particularly love is the ability to instantly look up a word in the dictionary just by clicking on it. You never even have to leave the page you are reading to look up the definition, it just appears along the bottom of the screen.

As you can tell, I am quite enthusiastic about my little Kindle!

It sounds really cool, I think I'm going to look into them a little bit more and see about saving up for one.

You can actually buy one through the Online Baptist store! I noticed that yesterday. You know, since Kindles have been out for a while, it's possible you might find a refurbished one or a used one for less. I recommend trying to buy the Kindle version 2 rather than the older version 1. As I understand it, the second version corrected some minor issues that were discovered with the first version.

They are expensive devices, but your whole family could use it and it might save money in the long run if you buy a lot of books.

Have a blessed Wednesday, Brother Schworer!

Are you sure you've got the key to Revelation ??? :icon_rolleyes::puzzled3:

Well, Covenanter, my dear friend, even a knucklehead like me can understand Revelation if he takes it literally for what it says as opposed to trying to cram it into a seven month period almost 2,000 years ago.

:)
