Many years ago I came across a sermon an IB preacher named Gary Dice when he visited Australia, and from memory he was preaching on this passage, or at least referencing it. He sang a slightly silly song about this section of Romans 7, but I have never been able to find any reference to it anywhere else. I would appreciate it if anyone has heard of it and could give me a reference or link to it, or best case, the sheet music. I know there are many songs that come up when you do a google search, but none of them have been the one I am looking for. It has the words almost direct from the KJV, not just something loosely based on that text. Thanks folks.

As time goes bye, churches are opening up to adding drums and more to the worship. I brought this up once before, but I am open to drums and more, instruments. Maybe others jump on the bandwagon by now. Chances are not always good, but Hymnal only, we are loosing ground. Do I support Hymns, absolutely. But I am thinking of the future church worship, and where it is going. Trying to keep the youths in its churches.

Come, Thou Fount Robert Robinson and John Wyeth 1 Come, Thou Fount of every blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace; Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above; Praise the mount I'm fixed upon it Mount of Thy redeeming love. 2 Here I raise mine Ebenezer; Hither by Thy help I'm come; And I hope, by Thy good pleasure, Safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, Wandering from the fold of God; He, to rescue me from danger, Interposed His precious bl…

My family and I are on vacation in Wisconsin this week, and we found a really good Christian music station. From what we've heard so far, they play mostly Wilds/Northland/Soundforth/Majesty stuff. I heard a song last night that I believe is called "Woe Is Me," based on Isaiah 6. I've googled several combinations of the phrases, but nothing comes up. The chorus went something like this... Woe is me, woe is me, For I am a man undone, My voice can only praise thy name, And worship thy dear son. Woe is me, woe is me, My lips though unclean shall sing, Lord purge my sin, revive my heart, For mine eyes have seen the King. Has anyone heard of this song and know…

This song keeps popping up on my social media feed, and those who know me are aware that I'm not against the creation of new songs. Nevertheless, I find it puzzling why this song, like many new ones, doesn't even mention the word "God." Many songs leave it up to the listener to interpret the "he" and "me" as whoever they want it to be. This song will not be sung in my church. ? - RANT OVER When the worry's likes a whirlwind And I just keep spinning round & round I feel like such a mess And I'm craving something quiet Is there a place that I can go to close my eyes And just forget That I'm not okay Cause I'm not okay But even as I wait I can…

What's your belief of female music leaders? The article link below seems like it was written just to keep things with the times and not an article I necessarily agree with. So what's your beliefs on woman choir directors, woman leading congregationals and so forth? https://baptistnews.com/article/now-theres-a-movement-to-bar-women-as-worship-leaders-in-churches/

The Hymn Makers series. Has anyone ever listened to these? I believe there's about 21-23 different hymn writers covered including Isaac Watts, John Newton/William Cowper (my favorite), Fanny Crosby, Charles Wesley and Ira D. Sankey. They are done in a traditional manner by the St. Michael's Singers and Coventry Cathedral among others. I highly recommend them. They used to be very difficult to obtain but now are readily available on YouTube and Spotify.

Has anyone here ever sung in a language other than English for voice training purposes? We had a choice of Italian or German. I chose German. It can be very helpful for hitting and holding a high note. For instance English uses the diphthong. A diphthong, also known as a gliding vowel, is a combination of two adjacent vowel sounds within the same syllable. An example of this is our long 'A' sound. We actually start with the long 'A' sound a followed by the long 'E' sound. Try it. Say the word 'Day" and listen closely. Spanish speaking people use only the long 'A' sound without moving to the long 'E'. How can this help singing in English? The long 'E' actually clos…

I'm finding that many churches today don't seem to worship the Lord Jesus Christ, but rather their opinions and man-based doctrines. Dictatorial pastors have become the norm in many churches, and it's a shame.....I want to remember daily that only JESUS is worthy of our praise! This song has been on my heart and mind for the past few weeks. I hope this helps exalt JESUS in your life, and edifies you as much as it has me. I hope that it will also help motivate you to share Christ with one person today!

Country music has always included gospel music. Here is an album of country gospel music. https://www.pandora.com/artist/various-artists/country-gospel-greats/ALZZzvqv5jv5jt6 And here is one of the most beautiful songs. It was a slave song included in a collection of songs and published in Slave Songs of the United States in 1867. Pretty much forgotten it was revived in the movie, "Oh,Brother, Where Art Thou?"

I've had this song concept kicking around in my head for a long time. Just been too busy with other things. This is a rough draft which I will most likely tweak some more but, I hope to get time to work out the melody and chords. Probably will be in D Major with sus chords Heartstrings ©2022 Wayne Webb A harmony is in your holy words Sweetest poetry I've ever heard As I realize what they are saying This is when you come to me Suddenly you’re playing Chorus On my heartstrings A lovely tune Lord, I don’t need anything When I can’t get enough of you And when I feel this way All I want to do Is make the sweetest melody And play it on my heartstr…

Heather Sorenson is a very accomplished composer and musician. He father, Dr. David Sorenson, was my youth pastor and the Associate pastor of the church I grew up in in Illinois. I've been listening to a lot of Heather's music lately interspersed with my classical music regimine. What a blessing to hear such great, Christian music and have it available. I hope you enjoy this worship song as much as I have today.

When I was in Bible college at Maranatha Baptist Bible College, now Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown, WI (http://www.mbu.edu) I heard this piece of music most of November and all of our time in the dorms during December 1982. It reminds me of Christmas every time I hear it...and I often wonder how J.S. Pachelbel would react 300+ years later knowing that people are still listening to this wonderful piece of music. Enjoy.

The Hymnal that we sing that-says it is well with my soul, shouldn’t it be, it is well with my spirit. For when we were lost, we were body and soul, and now that we are saved, we are in the body soul and spirit. Just checking

I grew up with these men at the Faith Baptist Church of Pekin, IL during the 70s...until their father was called to go to seminary in Pontiac, MI. The Tharp Brothers are good singers, preachers and have their children in Christian service! Praise the Lord for good, sound music, and for faithful ministers of the Word. The link below is the Tharp Brothers singing at NBBC.
