Revelation 22:19 Book of Life or Tree of Life? "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the BOOK of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." Rather than saying "book of life", versions like the RSV, NASB, NIV, ESV, Jehovah Witness New World Translation, and the Catholic versions read: "God will take away his share in the TREE of life." It should be noted that there are several textual differences found in just the last few verses of Revelation, and that not even the modern versions agree among themselves. For instance, in verses 20 and 21, the K…

Did Jesus tell His disciples to take a staff or not? Matthew 10:10, Mark 6:8, and Luke 9:3 In the King James Holy Bible we read the following: Matthew 10:9-10 "Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, Nor scrip for your journey, neither TWO coats, neither shoes, nor yet STAVES: for the workman is worthy of his hire." In Matthew 10:10 the NASB, NIV, RSV, ESV read: "Acquire no gold nor silver nor copper for your belts, no bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals NOR A STAFF, for the laborer is deserves his food." (ESV). The singular word "staff" comes from Sinaiticus, Vaticanus and D. Mark 6:8 KJB - "And commanded th…

THE HOMOSEXUAL'S BIBLE NRSV August 8, 2002 (David Cloud, Fundamental Baptist Information Service, P.O. He said: "For the past 33 years, Metropolitan Community Churches have challenged the Church to re-examine God's Word as it relates to homosexuality. Thanks to the boldness, faithfulness and ministry…

Does God Deceive People? - Ezekiel 14:9 There are many truths found in the Holy Scriptures that many present day Christians find unpalatable. Most Christians today do not read their Bibles, so they don't come across these truths, and the modern versions are doing their best to hide them, if one should stumble upon them in God's word. Such is the case with Ezekiel 14:9. The context is clearly about a false prophet and the person who comes to him. Beginning at Ezekiel 14:7 we read: "For everyone of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock…

My pastor, among many others, is King James Bible EXCLUSIVE, but not 'Only'. Why? Because of the spirit of the issue, on both sides. But doesn't this little scenario simplify the matter, and avoid much of the ruckus? Is the King James Bible the Word of God? Most will say yes, some will say, "not the only Word of God" At that point ask, Up until there was a 'modern version', was the King James Bible considered the Word of God? Yes. oK, then if a person, or a person's writing contradicts the Word of God, is the contradiction in error? Yes Then show where the 'mv's' contradict the King James Bible, and they ALL do at some point, and many times. …

Rejoice or Be Proud? In the true Holy Bible boasting in oneself is never commended as a good thing. Scripture allows for boasting in the accomplishments of others, but not in ourselves. For example, see 2 Corinthians 7:14; 8:24, and 9:3-4. Here the apostle Paul boasted to others of the Corinthians because they were ready to provide for the needs of the poor saints in Jerusalem. Boasting in oneself is done only in a sense of irony, and is called "folly" and speaking foolishly - See 2 Corinthians 11:1, 10, 16-18 "That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting. Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will…

While looking at Hope of Israel site I found this interesting article on Jewish weddings . Especially now with Christmas just passed and all this article made me understand now more about how they did things then . Here is a link to the article http://www.hopeofisrael.net/wedding.htm If you read carefully it makes a lot of sense on why Jesus mentions things they way he does. In a sense what I got out of it just like Mary was espoused ( thought the wedding had not happened ) we are essentially espoused to Jesus .Its really a neat article

What Happens if you are Not a King James Bible Only believer? One of the first things that must occur for someone to no longer believe in a complete, infallible, inspired Bible is to somehow not believe or explain away the following verses that the Holy Bible says about itself. THE PRESERVED WORD OF GOD Even though the onslaught of Bible corruption has intensified in these last days, God has promised that He will preserve His Word pure for ever. The Bible cannot be clearer concerning it's preservation: Isaiah 40:8: "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the Word of our God shall stand for ever." Psalm 12:6-7: "The words of the LORD are pure w…

Ok let me change this question a bit. Cambridge has been printing Bibles for over 400 years. Does anyone know anything about the integrity or reliablitity of their reference system? Good or bad? I have read negative things on the Scofield Bible, Thompson Chain Reference, and Thomas Nelson. I have personally found typos in the Holman printings. I have done searches about Cambridge, and have only found comments about poor print quality on some version because of the system used for printing at a particular facility. So, whats the report on Cambridge?? :?:

ISN'T THE KING JAMES BIBLE TOO DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND? February 3, 2004 (David Cloud, Fundamental Baptist Information Service, P.O. Box 610368, Port Huron, MI 48061, 866-295-4143, fbns@wayoflife.org; for instructions about subscribing and unsubscribing or changing addresses, see the information paragraph at the end of the article) - Is the King James Bible too difficult to understand? ANSWER: 1. THE KJV DOES HAVE SOME ANTIQUATED WORDS AND FORMS OF SPEECH, BUT THERE ARE NOT TOO MANY OF THESE. The Trinitarian Bible Society publishes a list of 618 antiquated words. It is called Bible Word List. That is not very many, and most of them can be understood by…

Micah 5:2 and Hebrews 2:11 Some modern versions undermine and attack the eternal deity of the only begotten Son of God. Can you prove from the King James Bible that the Lord Jesus Christ had a beginning or an origin? No. Can you prove from the NIV, RSV, ESV, or the JW bibles that He had an origin? Yes. Micah 5:2 "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; WHOSE GOINGS FORTH have been of old, FROM EVERLASTING." John Gill comments on the traditional, Trinitarian exposition of this verse and the meaning of the phrase "whose goings forth have been...from…

Geneva Bible

I have been reading about King James and the earlier english translations. especially the Geneva one. From what I have gathered the only thing wrong with the Geneva translation was that James did not like the marginal notes. They showed that the king was not equal to God. He did not like that. The notes showed that "Tyrannical kings should not be obeyed; indeed, there were excellent reasons for suggesting that they should be overthrown." When the decision to translate a new english version came it was resolved that "A translation be made of the whole Bible, as consonant as can be to the original Hebrew and Greek; and this to be set out and printed, without any margin…

What About Those Printing Errors in the 1611 Holy Bible? Pastor David F. Reagan has written an excellent article about The Myth of Early Revisions of the Authorized King James Holy Bible. In his article he discusses the conditions of the printing process in 1611, and shows how the so called revisions are actually only examples of updating the spelling of words and the correction of minor printing errors. His article can be seen here - http://www.learnthebible.org/Myth%20of% ... isions.htm Pastor Reagan rightly says: "We need to establish one thing from the out-set. The authority for our preserved English text is not found in any human work. The authority for o…

I have been thinking a lot about the KJV it seems to cause a big stir either for or against it .Which got me to thinking has any of the other MV caused a stir such as this ? Has anyone been killed because of the other MV ? Has anyone been put in jail because of the MV? I have never heard of any if anyone has please feel free to share your story .If our KJV was not the Bible why kill ?Why place someone in jail? Has any of the other MV been banned and or burned if not why ? Me thinks the devil knows which is the right Bible and just as he tried to do when Jesus was born he was out to destroy him .the devil wishes for the KJV to be destroyed also . MV = Modern Version…

Could somebody please shed some light on the time element, when the original (authorized) King James Version of the Bible has changed? I have a copy of the 1611 Bible and it is nothing like the KJV we have today. For it has the Apocrypha, and I see that the words are altogether different in spelling. When did all this change take place, and in what manner? Would appreciate your kind answers. Thank you. P.S. Below is a direct quote from the 1611 Bible (John 3:16). [quote] For God so loued y world, that he gaue his only begotten Sonne; that whosoeuer beleeueth in him, should not perish, but haue euerlasting life. [/quote]

2Ch 28:1 Ahaz [was] twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD, like David his father: 20+16=36 2Ch 29:1 Hezekiah began to reign [when he was] five and twenty years old, and he reigned nine and twenty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name [was] Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah. 36-25=11 See the problem, When Ahaz reign ended, and he died, he was 36. Hezekiah began to reign, presumably after Ahaz died, at 25 years old. So Ahaz @ 36 has a 25 year old son? Whassup? This is NOT a criticism of the KJB, other versions read the same way.
