  1. I noticed that you didn't give a testimony of salvation which Dave W asked for...I find this something that most Calvinists avoid doing as well. I am asking for one now...this will make the second request for such on these forums.
  2. Again, your take and twist of Scripture.
  3. It's CLEAR you don't read people's posts...If you look back through my posts you'll see I have. Speak of "bearing false witness." You're arrogant, sir, and consistently twist the Scriptures to fit your own purposes. You have consistently tried to antagonize and demean people, and to tell you the truth, I don't know how you've survived on these forums this long, as others have been suspended for the same attitude.... This is you're bearing false witness again. To be frank, with your attitude, youre not worth wasting time on any longer. Have a nice, arrogant, misled life.
  4. This evening, my wife made pan fried pork chops (not breaded), mushroom and onion gravy, rice, and green beans! Man oh man was it EVER good! ? We're going to have a cinnamon roll for dessert. We started shopping ALDI again a few weeks back, and what we got today saved us over $45 over what we would have paid at Kroger! If you have an ALDI store in your area, I'd highly recommend it! I grew up on ALDI in Pekin, IL starting around 50 years ago, and because there wasn't one on our side of town here, we stopped shopping there. If you don't have one, write their corporate headquarters and show that there's some kind of interest in saving money on groceries! ?
  5. I had thought that might have been a possibility, but I wanted to make sure. ? Thanks, Jim!
  6. Just an observation here....this is the TYPICAL arrogant, self-absorbed type of posting many of us have come to expect from the followers of Calivn. Thank you for continuing to prove just how anti-biblical your position truly is. You say in your post you "leave that to God" I don't see that at all.
  7. Maybe something went right over my head...but what in the world are you trying to say here, Morales? Please, explain.
  8. It should be apparent that MY understanding is the same as that of @Pastor Scott Markle, not Calvins....No need for this nonsense on these forums.
  9. And if he's the same Iconoclast that has been on other forums I've been on, that' exactly what he does. And to be honest, nobody NEEDS your type of help...We have our beliefs that we've come to through Scripture, not through Calvin. Thanks, but, no thanks,, Iconoclast. You might want to think about finding an "echo chamber" somewhere else. Just a suggestion.
  10. King James was no '"pure spirit," but, I wouldn't classify him as one of the purely evil people.
  11. John 12:32,And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. ALL MEANS ALL... Matthew 28:18-20...All power was given to Christ after his ressurection. He and the Father are one. So, therefore he can draw men to himself...Refer back to John 12:32 Let's look at vs. 40 in the passage you jump to...... 40And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. That could be ANYONE...not just what you call "the elect." Election ISN'T a blessing. If salvation is FORCED on someone, then it's not salvation, it's slavery.
  12. That's YOUR interpretation of the Scripture. I believe Pastor Scott already gave another explanation. ALL MEANS ALL....Nowhere does it state, "Just the elect."
  13. If we take the Scriptures the way you would have us to, then God would be a liar....2 Peter 3:9...All means all.
  14. There is no 100% proof that King James WAS homosexual...common attack...I'm not saying he wasn't, nor am I saying he was. We don't know for certain.
  15. To be honest, it looks to some of us as if you have a "personal interpretation" as to what the Bible says...and it doesn't align with Scripture, but twisted to meet your soteriology. Just an observation.
  16. God uses whoever and whatever he will to accomplish his purpose. King James may have, by your estimation, been "evil". But, isn't all of mankind? Without Christ, every man is "evil."
  17. Neither does hearing the Gospel. It's a necessity, though. Still, when one HEARS the gospel, it doesn't mean that they are going to necessarily respond positively to it. Festus didn't. Remember? "ALMOST, though persuadest me to become a Christian." All throughout Scripture, God has given people the CHOICE to follow him or not...in Egypt, he gave Pharoah the chance to just do as he had commanded and "let my people go." He refused...after so many times we see that GOD hardened his heart...an offer to acknowledge God as God was extended several times before this, and Pharoah made a conscious decision NOT to accept. You know...FREE WILL...We also find in Scripture where there was a chance to be saved from God's wrath by looking to a standard with a snake on it to help them recover from a deadly disease...LOOK AND LIVE....Again, FREE WILL. In the New Testament, Christ tells a rich young ruler to "sell all that you have and follow me." He doesn't. The offer is extended, but he refuses...FREE WILL. You say FREE WILL (the words) aren't in the Bible...maybe so. But, the PRINCIPLE is!
  18. Romans 1:16-20 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. 18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
  19. My best friend, an IFB pastor in Southern Illinois, just told me that his son in law is having doubts about his marriage, and other things. There are many factors involved in what is going on with this young man, and I don't want to go into detail. Suffice it to say that his past is haunting him, and he needs our prayers. He has worked in the ministry of the church where my friend is pastor, and the couple has a young son...Please pray that the adversary will not have victory in this case an that this young man will return to what he knows is right. He went to Fairhaven in Indiana and I believe is a graduate of the college there. Thanks in advance for your prayers. BT
  20. Iconoclast...read your post...was this thing on the two lines, the last one being "lying" a fraudien slip? ? Just asking for sake of reference.
  21. Tonight we're having left over vegetables from the roast I made in the crock pot last night, along with a small meatloaf...probably Mexican style. Along with that we'll be having some macaroni salad, and neopolitan ice cream for dessert! ? It's been a LONG, HOT day so far. In the 90s here, and very humid. I have the past control people here spraying the outside, and our deacon is here mowing our lawn since I can no longer do it myself, nor can my wife.
  22. This is why I dont try to argue with Calvinists. They have "redefined" what the Bible says to fit their own devices. Their reasoning is circular, and in my opinion, of the devil.
  23. It's strange how some believe "Baptists" were the original church....either that or it's been worded incorrectly. I thought they were first called "Christians" in Antioch. That being said, I would say that I would, if it was necessary, become and Evangelical Free member. Their churches in the areas I've been in that have had both IFB/SBC churches alongside the E-Free churches, have been the closest I've found to what most IFB and some SBC churches are at present. Close behind this are many of the "Bible" churches. People have to be careful about the LABELS on churches, because many times they don't truly represent what is on the sign.
  24. We watched JVI occasionally, but I never really was fond of his ministry. Something about him and his wife hit me wrong. I'm not saying there wasn't some good that came out of his ministry, but, I am saying I stayed away from him as much as possible.
  25. I can agree that the children are being brainwashed. It's the 3nature of the beast when people continue sending their kids to public education 40+ hours a week, then allow them to be in socialistically engineered programs afterwards. The kids, if they DO go to church, are only there from 3 to 10 hours a week....one quarter of the time that is spent with the ungodly public school system. Many homes don't spend much time training their children about God except to pray before meals. I will agree that MOST things in this world today are evil, but, not all. There are actually SOME, but, not many people, saved and unsaved alike, who are trying to make things better.
