  1. Your opinion, and I'd never try to take that from you....I'm quite calm, sir. Thanks. ?
  2. Last night I made big pot of chili! Tonight it's being turned into Chil-Mac! I love chili, and I could eat it anytime! It was supposed to turn off cold here, but, it's been quite nice with lows in the upper 40s and low 50s, and highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Ah, winter in Tennessee! ? Still, chili is nice!
  3. I knew because of the direction the Lord kept taking my life. Every time I was turning to another avenue of work, the Lord kept opening the door back to preaching and teaching in the church. I was only in my early 20s then. I had sold my part in a business and moved to Wisconsin to go to Bible college at Maranatha. After I left Maranatha and moved to Georgia with my family, it was clear what direction I was to take. I became involved in the youth ministry of a church in West Augusta, and became the youth minister when the pastor resigned and the assistant pastor became the pastor. I was only the youth minister on an interim basis. The church split shortly after the pastor came back and reunited with his wife and wanted his job back. Many of us didn't feel he should be in the pastorate until he and his wife had gone through a time of counselling and church discipline. I was one of the people in the founding of what was then Garden City Baptist Church. It was, many years later, absorbed by another church. The Lord kept opening doors for my wife and I to be involved in the founding of several other churches over the years. It has only been over the past 17 years that I have not preached, but have been involved in ministry through writing and music.
  4. Please, prove your assertion. You seem to have a lot of negative opinions yourself. Thanks for your comment. Have a nice day, Brother. ?
  5. Nobody is denying that there is a growing problem with the use of technology and the addiction it CAN cause. It doesn't necessarily mean it WILL happen. Some people seem to find the negative in anything they can. There is such a thing as balance, and I'm sure many here, including yourself, that use a balanced approach. Your exhortation to beware is greatly appreciated and should be heeded, especially in those who exhibit addictive behaviors.
  6. Ours are pre=packaged in fours, already frozen. It comes from the processing plant that way by contract by Smith Farms. Personally, I would like them in packs of two. But, it costs less for Smith to have them packed in quantaties of four and eight. The way I make them, I haven't noticed any difference in taste Of course, I use some things (secrets) that I learned in the restaurants over the years along with some things that I learned from my two chef sisters-in-law to make sure the wonderful taste stays consistent.
  7. I'm only in my early 60s. When we bought the chops from Smith Farms (a friend of mine) he had them packaged in packs of four. So, I cook them all at one time. My wife eats one, as do I. They're pretty good sized chops so we always have two left over. Now, if we'd have bought them from Kroger, Publix, Piggly Wiggly or Walmart, we'd be eating all four of them as they're packs usually consist of four miniature chops! LOL
  8. Technology isn't the problem...it's the heart of the individual that is. Many use FB and other Social Media outlets for communication, dialogue, and even for witnessing. If we pull out of all venues we'll have no witness to the lost. So many try to cut cloister themselves from the world that they cannot be an effective witness.
  9. It's called "self-control" Brother! LOL
  10. I cooked pork chops, mac & cheese, and black-eyed peas last night. Tonight we're having the two left over chops, a small portion of the m&c that was left over, and some green beans. i may make a small salad.
  11. Now, that's the Larry Brown I remember! Of course, I knew of several. One, who was the pastor of the Victory Baptist Church in N. Augusta, SC, until he died two or three years ago. They called him "Booger Brown!"
  12. Hey, I'm so sorry! We definitely know about challenges, especially around the holidays. On Christmas Eve, our heat pump went out. We had to put the crazy thing on emergency heat, and also use a small heater to heat the living room, kitchen, and one bedroom. They couldn't get to replacing it until the 28th. The crazy thing ran non-stop for five days...I can't wait to see our electricity bill for this month...and the $13K for the new heat pump! But, praise be to God for all things. It's HIS house, not ours. We just live in it and try to keep it up the best we can with what he provides us with. We'll be praying for y'all. We know your mother is there, too, and that is another concern for you. Keep us informed.
  13. What is with his voice? LOL Sounds like Porky Pig! ? That HELIUM makes it sound REALLY creepy!
  14. That's wonderful news! We're so happy for you, and for his parents. You are all in our prayers, and we look forward to pictures after your grandson is born! ?
  15. I used to get Brother Cloud's newsletter daiily. But, in several instances, where he was clearly misinformed, hadn't done his research, and went by hearsay and was called on it by not only myself, but other readers as well, he became indignant, beligerant, and even hateful in his responses. It was his inability to admit his errors and correct them that lost him this reader. His information, when correct, is usually pretty well thought out and presented. I still use his CD for some of my research. If your belief is that he's 100% correct in all he's presented, that's your prerogative, and I wouldn't take that from you. It hasn't been my experience with the man.
  16. Yes, and we've all heard the stories. I've seen proof of the value of medical marijuana for years. I've also seen how the data has been manipulated by the Federal government for years to show it to be the "boogeyman!" There are dangers with ANY type of medicine, especially when abused.
  17. NO great plans for last night....just sleep! ? For New Years Day? Church service in the morning. No SS, and no evening service. Hopefully a good time of reflection on the past year, though.
  18. Wow! I mean, WOW! If you sensed something wasn't right, which, of course is totally off base, then why did you stay? I don't see what PastorMatt did as going behind anyones back. It's a public forum.Whether he addresses you or anyone else in "third person" as long as it's not something against scripture, I don't believe he did anything wrong. Seems like you know a lot about PastorMatt...of course, he doesn't hide who he is. Remember, you're a guest here, as are we all. Lecturing the admniinstrator and others here isn't wise.
  19. I've only been a member of one church that had the American flag on the platform. I'm not against it as long as it doesn't become a "god." The focus of our worship is Jesus Christ.
  20. That's really sad! ?
  21. Money and power, to a degree...yes. Still, they aren't the final word in what goes on. Many ARE fighting the FDA, AMA, WHO, NIH and other government entities. Remember how the courts overturned Biden's SHOT mandates? The pharmeceuitical companies didn't get their way there....nor did the government. I don't see anyone disappearing, though many are being silenced through censorship. I can't say I agree with many of your conclusions. No, tbh I don't. Care to expound so we know exactly what you're trying to convey?
  22. Because I may not be on here over the weekend, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas a few days early! Though this has been a strange year for many of us, we know the Lord has used everything that has transpired during 2022 in our lives to try and help us to become the children of God that we need to be. I pray you all remember the true meaning of Christmas, and are thankful for His coming to earth to free us from sin. Of course, with his birth, his true purpose was known, his death and the shedding of his blood to cleanse us from our sin, the ressurection to guarantee the victory over death and new life for us, and the ressurection to "go and prepare a place" for us, leaving us with the command to preach the Gospe and help build his kingdom. May each of you have a wonderful, thankful time together, and may the Lord continue to shine his face on you and give you peace and guidance. Blessings, BrotherTony
  23. The Bible tells us we're supposed to stand against the darkness....JW's preach something other than Jesus, and him crucified. They are propogating a false religion. One can be respectful of the person and still be firm about the error. We NEVER take the literature from them. I can't say if you sinned or not, but I can say that you should gain the knowledge to question their religion respectfully, and give them the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  24. Your accusations against people here really need to stop. Please, now that you've made the accusation that I have an evil heart, and the other poster who asked has one, give proof, or retract it publicly.
  25. He's asking a question...I second his request. I agree with @PastorMatt , though.
