  1. Mike Norris, Pastor of Franklin Road Baptist Church in Murfreesboro Tennessee is a good one. There are many good ones on YouTube and on sermonaudio.com.
  2. Woah! I'm not saying, nor have I EVER said he was or wasn't Christian, or that we had to have a "Christian" president. The last POTUS that claimed to be "Christian" before GW Bush was Jimmy Carter, and you know how badly mismanaged the country was run under his administration. You asked TGL for proof of what he was saying. I knew what clip/clips he was talking about, so I presented it.
  3. Personally I know that I wouldn't want him in the pulpit or the pastorate. I know that being raised in an IFB church and having all of the man-made, strictly enforced cultic nature, and my being delivered from that group, I couldn't/wouldn't sit under this "pastor."
  4. Here DJT said he WAS NOT Christian. Notice: The link has a dirty word in it, but it's on "Reddit" so consider the source. https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/1edjtvj/i_am_not_christian/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button He may be saying that he's half Christian. I've seen transcripts one stating "not" and the other saying "half."
  5. This pastor has a right to his opinions and beliefs no matter how twisted and wrong they might be. That being said, I believe he was wrong for making such a declaration. His "apology" may be little too little and far too late.
  6. Tonight we're having the leftovers from last night, homemade hamburger and potato casserole! Bread and butter will accompany the main dish, and homemade zucchini bread for dessert. Yummy!!!
  7. Monkey pox is suddenly in the news because the WHO and MSM are looking for and pointing to it as the next prospective pandemic. It's not spread enough to fit that distinction. It may NEVER go that far. We can only hope and pray it doesn't.
  8. I'm not offended in any way, Brother. I think we're talking past each other but believe basically the same. And once again I must reiterate in case I have been misunderstood., though husbands and wives have responsibilities to the family unit the husband is still the "head, guide, leader" of the family whether the wife follows or not. Nobody is placing ALL of the responsibility on the man as you suppose, at least not here. And I do agree that there are many pastors who wrongly place ALL of the blame on the husband. The church I grew up in did that, and it put undue pressure on my father to the point where he withdrew from a lot of the service to the church.
  9. In a dictatorship this is nothing new. Ortega has held power since before 2010, has changed the constitution of his country to allow for an unlimited number of terms in office, and his administration controls all facets of government. Many of the organizations closed weren't religious in nature at all. Could something like this happen in the United States of America? Of course it could, but I don't believe u would be any time near soon unless we allow the Democrats to run our country into the ground by allowing open borders, perverts in government, and the LGBTQ agenda along with anti Israel policies to continue. Lord help our citizens to open their eyes to what is happening.
  10. Simon Peter is mine. We find that he has denied Christ, but knew his wrong and repented. Though I haven't denied Christ, there have been times when I have had to withdraw myself from certain churches or church altogether to gain some perspective. I was like Peter in the respect that I stated, "I go a fishing. But, Peter couldn't stay that way, and neither could I. Upon returning to the profession I was in before beginning in ministry, I found that wasn't where God would bless me. After several months of discipline from the Lord, I returned to ministry, though not in a full-time capacity. I seemed to have gone through Christ asking me, as he did Simon Peter, "Do you love me?" Seeing how God used Peter after his failing, I know that God is a forgiving God and will use us in spite of ourselves.
  11. On the article linked to Tennessee at the end of that post, I know that a few years back when I was still going to Vanderbilt for treatments the Vanderbilt University medical student and staff were all talking about how the Medical Center and University were committed to continuing on with the child transgender surgeries. That was my last trip to Nashville and the campus and medical center there. At that time those who were voicing opposition to those policies were under a great deal of pressure to either keep quiet or leave. Shameful!
  12. I believe that he did forgive them. He gave them coverings from animals for their naked bodies, the blood of those animals being shed. It's apparent that Adam and Eve learned of the shedding of blood for sin as their son Abel knew of an acceptable offering before God. So, exactly how would it have helped US to being pleasing before God? Please, explain your line of reasoning.
  13. Welcome to OB. I have to ask about your initial query in the header of your post. What in scripture gives you the idea that Jesus was any of those things listed? References would help to determine where you're coming from. Thanks.
  14. The Republican party was "center right" when I first voted in the general election of 1980. By 1986 the party had left the centrist position and had started it's leftward leaning and my wife and I became Independents. At one time Ross Perot seemed to be gaining enough momentum to become POTUS, but he cracked under the pressures of campaigning and running his business affairs, and we had to end up voting for the center left leaning George Herbert Walker Bush. Many Republicans already support abortion, gay marriage, and a majority of the LGBTQ+ platform. Republicans and Democrats are nothing more than opposite sides of the same coin.
  15. That's a pretty obtuse comparison. People didn't vote for Caesar or Pharaoh. I'd really like to know where TGL comes up with these things. Sad, really.
  16. Once again scientists are trying to prove that the Bible isn't telling us the truth concerning our human lineage stating that they've proven that the Biblical account of creation is false and that we came from a form of one-celled organic pond scum. It wasn't until the early 1900s that these theories made their way into the mainstream conscience of Americans and the world. Remember the Scopes Monkey Trial in Tennessee? It's an interesting read, to some degree, but wholly incorrect. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/study-confirms-humans-share-one-common-ancestor-and-it-s-not-adam/ss-AA1oMTvU?ocid=chromentpnews&pc=U526&cvid=721d805784e74596ec9a8876a96d78e2&ei=32#image=2
