Voting for one the of two less evils biblical?
BrotherTony replied to TheGloryLand's topic in General Chats
It's the same here in Tennessee. Not only are the gas stations owned by Indian families, but so are a good number of the Subway sandwich shops and also motels. We no longer support our local Subway restaurants, nor do we support the gas stations owned by Indian people. It's not because of their nationality, but because of the poor service and fraud perpetrated by these people. My wife and I, and my sister have all worked with and for these people and have firsthand knowledge of how they operate. -

As far left as she leans politically, I am surprised she believes in any type of god. I know she hates Christians and Christianity and it has shown in her political and personal lives. We truly don't need her in any political office in this country. -
One reason for this is that the SBC seminaries have been infiltrated by those pushing the Calvinist tripe. Those who were Arminian leaning and who supported the pre-trib rapture, the 1000 year reign of Christ, etc., were systematically removed from leadership and teaching positions. Now they're teaching and preaching that we're already living in the millenial reign. These positions have even started to filter into the IFB circles. I pray none here have fallen into these positions in their doctrine.

Johnny Mac is REFORMED in theology. He seems to be more of an "itchy ear" type of preacher. He's right on a lot of things, wrong on others, and is a preacher that I seldom listen to any longer. He did finally take a stand on women as pastors or in places of authority over men when he basically told Beth Moore to sit down and be quiet. Moore left the Southern Baptists and went to the Anglican church. Would I recommend Macarthur? Not unless one is looking for REFORMED or CALVINIST doctrine.

I decided to watch the NABJ interview today with Donald Trump. I was flabbergasted at the disrespect shown him while he was there by one journalist in particular. She made a STATEMENT, a long diatribe before finally getting to her question. She was also very contentious throughout. I believe Trump was justified in his attack back on her. Then the statements by ABC personnel afterwards were not only untruthful, but just as contentious as the one interviewer. Is it any wonder people have no trust in the MSM and have turned them off? They have a wonderful time promoting Kommie Kamala and covering up her poor job as Veep! This makes me want to support Trump even more.

Preachers, supporting political leaders from the pulpit
BrotherTony replied to TheGloryLand's topic in General Chats
This is one thing that has always bothered me. In predominantly African American churches the Democrats seem to have a free hand in not only having these pastors telling their congregations to vote for the Democrats while still being allowed to keep their 501c3 tax exempt status in violation of Federal law. Most conservative and Caucasian congregations don't do this and get in trouble if they do. I have only set under one pastor that told the congregation who to vote for. It was in an IFB church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. -
women The Morality Behind Christian Women Wearing Pants
BrotherTony replied to Katherine Solarte's topic in Biblical Issues
If your dress is modest, slacks should not be a problem. My wife cannot wear dresses after having been in a near fatal auto accident in December of 2015. When visiting some IFB churches we've experienced some flack, but we don't let it worry us as these people have no solid scriptural backing for their opinion based belief. Go because you want to serve the Lord. Don't let others opinions stop you from participating in worship services. -

With the constant attacks on the US Dollar, and the endless printing of money helping to devalue said currency there will have to be a revamping of our monetary system. The Dollar could be reintroduced being once again based on a gold standard, or we could go to a digital or cryptocurrency. The disadvantages of a digital currency to the citizens are the government knowing of and possibly deciding on what products or services a person could buy, and also the cutting off of the citizens freedom with the proverbial touch of a button. I wholly believe that this is a move towards a centralized (One World). currency and government. In and of itself the Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency isn't nefarious. We need to keep an eye on the progression of this attempt. -

Do you have a reference point or clip to prove the claim that he said such a thing? I've watched nearly all the rallies that they've televised and heard others on the radio and have NEVER heard him say such a thing. I've even googled it and got no returns. As far as Vance is concerned you're still telling outright lies about him being Hindu. He's RCC. He says he is saved. FALSE accusations and assumptions seem to be commonplace with you TGL and that's a shame. Christians don't **lose their salvation**. There are many Christians who have questions about their salvation at times. Most come to the realization that Christ saved them and that the adversary is the author of confusion. I NEVER down those who have questions. It's a good thing as it shows that the Holy Spirit is working in their lives. -
For the greater portion of his posts I agree. Any time he's been called out on it he tries to make a joke about it, tries to change the subject, or tries to make a joke about it. For a while he was doing better, so it's clear that he CAN be positive and play well with others. It's this Eddie Morales that I would like to see. But, I have to agree with your assessment . Thanks Brother! I'll check it out this morning.

The wife and I are currently looking for a balance transfer card. We have one through Tractor Supply and the interest rate is soon to go way beyond what any bank should be allowed to charge. We usually pay our balances off every month as well. any suggestions heartstrings?

Again TGL using the word "most" without any proof posted. Whether he can see this response or not he's assessing that most spend to the maximum and that ALL have high interest rates. He truly should STOP posting his OPINION as fact. It makes him look ridiculous.

Well, wretched, if you can't comprehend the word *facts* there's going to be a problem to begin with. Fact: COVID 19 was and IS real. Fact: Fauci was involved in it's creation. Obama had told him to discontinue his involvement with it, which instruction does Fauci didn't follow. Fact: The CDC, NIH, WHO, etc pushed guidelines which did little to stop the spread of the disease, the millions of deaths, and the increased health issues that came from the poison jab they tried to push on everybody. Fact: There was a villianization of those who thought for themselves and did their own research and fought the mandates, the attempt to push the jab on everyone, and the attempt by the government to restrict freedom of assembly to Christians/conservatives. I could go on and on. But, I'll name one more...the fires that wiped out a lot of one town in Hawaii. I had a man whom I grew up with whose family sees conspiracies in everything, sending me hundreds of photographs of said town, and very limited what he referred to as proof, of a cannon of some sort that had the precision to set small, or even large swaths of property on fire yet leaving certain things untouched. UGH! I had to finally block him. My niece and her husband live near that area on the island while in the armed forces. Most of the material my friend sent me was soundly disproven, and he couldn't handle that FACT. Granted, there are valid conspiracy theories in this world. The JFK assassination, the RFK assassination, etc. I'm not gullible enough to swallow all the tripe shoved my way. You're definitely free to do so if you wish.

I know a lot of people who do the work that you so easily list as things we won't do. My brother in law does lawn irrigation and sprinkler installation on the side even though he's a supervisor with The Southern Company, aka Georgia Power. I know several pastors who do roofing as their job along with pastoring. I have several members of my family who do janitorial work and own janitorial businesses. I know several pastors who work in restaurants as busboys, dishwashers, cooks and servers. TGL, as usual has a low opinion of others. Sad

Oh, good grief! Another thread focused on money and a terrible slant to the negative on the subject of credit cards. It's hard NOT to make payments without a debit or credit card, and there's definitely nothing wrong with that. And it definitely for most doesn't have anything to do with the love of money.

We received a call the night before last notifying us of my wife's sister's intent to divorce her second husband. She came home from work ten days ago and was met by her husband in a terrible mood. They had gone to his mother's home, and he and his mother tried to coerce my SIL to try to go back to work at Walmart because he wants to retire. In doing so he would be without insurance and need someone else's insurance. At any rate, the MIL started in on Pat, and she asked them to stop trying to pressure her to leave her current employer where she has no insurance but can work the hours her physical conditions would allow. He stated he wouldn't accept that answer and got very angry and confrontational. He grabbed my SIL by the neck and threw her against the wall. My SIL asked the MIL if she was going to let him act that way, and she told Pat she deserved it. Pat left and went home. As soon as my BIL got home, he started in with the physical abuse again. He left for a short period during which she gathered some clothes and went to her youngest son's house to stay overnight. My BIL has now threatened her, her two sons and anyone who tries to make them separate. She's going to file for divorce on Friday after she gets paid. Please pray for her and my nephews. Also pray for my BIL...he's an alcoholic and claims to be a Christian. I don't know him though they've been married since August of 2009. I have no intention of meeting him because of his threats over the years. The situation is dire, so please pray.

Hogwash!!! They're speaking of LEGAL immigration. Another post about money...not really about immigration at all. Eddie, aka TGL, needs to remember his people were immigrants somewhere in the past.

Theories... that's all they are until proven true. And like I said, I deal in facts. I've had too many friends and family fall into the conspiracy cult. Too often they have been PROVEN wrong. Geanted a minority of them pan out. I fully agree that much of the COVID debauchle was filled with conspiracies that proved to be true. Anytime the government comes to the public and states ** We're from the Government, and we're hear to help** conspiracy theories are in order. Folks are always free to believe what they will, but, I deal only in facts. I'm pretty much a realist. And yes, JB was probably on some very good drugs.

Christians and artificial intelligence ?
BrotherTony replied to TheGloryLand's topic in General Chats
AI in and of itself is not a bad thing. The problem would seem to lie in how much a pastor or those in the pews would come to depend on AI in their study of the Bible and ministry to the lost. You're correct when you state that some say AI and the church should not intersect. I believe that this is because of their fear of all things technological citing their beliefs that AI is a part of the OWG and the Antichrist (Mark of the Beast). -
If they've got coverage on this property and it's contents rebuilding is their privilege and RESPONSIBILITY. Being in that particular location it would be hard to build a "Mega Stadium." And even if they did have that opportunity, it would be their right. It seems like you're once again focused on someone else's money instead of the loss of a part of the facility which they use to reach others for Christ. That's really sad. As I have stated before on these forums, I am no fan of Robert Jeffress, but I know that many people are reached for Christ through the ministry of First Baptist Church Dallas.
