Some of the Egyptians my wife had worked with at both Dell and CEVA Logistics have talked about the Exodus and stated that there are several writings in the Alexandrian library that put it forth as devastating. It's strange how those allegedly interested in history and truth deny the events surrounding the Hebrew Exodus.

It sounds like they need to learn about grace and how to show some. I had a friend in a similar situation, his wife having been divorced from a man who was mentally unstable, threatened not only her life but the lives of his own kids and even his own. He was a drunkard, dope using hellion and constantly in trouble with the law. One day after receiving a battering from her husband ,after he left to go to work she put the kids in the car and fled to her parents home. My friend met her after the divorce and her ex lost parental rights. They dated with church members and after agonizing over the situation felt the Lord leading him to marry her. They've been married 30+ years and have a total of five kids and six grandchildren. He pastored a church in North Carolina for 26 years and then "retired" with health issues. The church supported 17 missionaries and ran 185-225 people weekly. Last contact I had with him they were living in Arizona. He's had attacks from Pharisees who wanted to apply these man-made rules to him in spite of their own divorces, remarriages, abortions, and prison time. He's dealt with bad things being said about his wife, his kids, and himself. It's sad that they've been shown grace in their salvation, but deny grace to others.

"Scientists" have once again started an assault against the Christian faith, all the while stating that it's not an attack on any religion. We all know that any time "Scientists" say that there isn't an assault on anything they're lying. So, take a few minutes and go through these alleged "inaccuracies" or flat-out lies according to the "Scientists." Remember, we're supposed to "Trust the science." https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/14-religious-myths-debunked-by-archaeological-evidence/ss-AA1qUlsX?ocid=windirect&cvid=b56193400f7142d389d68770a884e5dc&ei=11#image=1

Yessir. Many of my pastor friends who were also friends with my ex BIL have sided with my sister in the divorce because her husband wouldn't do anything outside of the ministry. His income, or lack thereof caused my sister to go into several network marketing companies where she did quite well. He forced her to stop, and once they had moved back to Georgia to be closer to his family, he was overbearing with my sister and the girls ALWAYS attributing everything that happened to THEIR sin, ALWAYS excluding himself. After nearly suffering a nervous breakdown herself my sister kicked him out. He twisted scripture right and left, even in the separation and divorce proceedings pushed ALL of the blame on her. My sister was no angel in all of this, but she didn't endanger her kids health and lives. He did. Their friends, with the exception of one who is in the pastorate, have stated that Steve should not be in the pulpit. I agree.

What Happened To Sunday Night Church???
BrotherTony replied to BrotherTony's topic in Church Related Discussions
I'm finding this to be all to common an occurrence. The adversary seems to be gaining ground all around. -
My ex BIL was a militant IFB pastor for many years. He and my sister had five daughters, two sets of twins and a single birth, and he was strongly against divorced men in the pulpit or even serving in the church. To my mother and fathers face he was "respectful", but in actions in front of his eife and kids at home he was a Pharisee making himself out to be far better than he was. After my sister divorced him for extreme mental cruelty towards her and the girls, he started using the verse about letting the unbeliever depart. After a couple of years working at Lowes he started working with the youth of the church he was attending and remarried. He later became the youth pastor. A couple of years later he threw ALL of his beliefs out the window to justify becoming a pastor again. He now pastors a church in S. Georgia. He councils others concerning divorce and consistently tries to relieve himself of any responsibility in his own. It's sad how many who are staunchly anti divorced men in the pastorate are for it once it's come to their doorstep.

What Happened To Sunday Night Church???
BrotherTony replied to BrotherTony's topic in Church Related Discussions
The church we're members of didn't have evening service, rather they had several small groups. Since the Wuhan Flu the church has stopped all small groups. On most Sunday evenings they have choir practice for a choir we NEVER use. It's been a royal mess since 2020. -
I'm going to put a caveat on this thread. I'm not a huge fan of Dr. Bob Gray, Sr. The issues many have with him are well documented. But, as my grandfather used to say, even a broken clock is right twice a day. With that being said I, too, beg the question and ask several more. How many of you grew up going to Sunday evening services in the church? How many of you still have a Sunday evening service in the church where you attend? If you no longer have one, what is going on in it's place? Are there any other churches in your geographical location having Sunday evening services? Below is Dr. Bob Gray, Sr's article. https://www.independentbaptist.com/what-ever-happened-to-sunday-night-church/?fbclid=IwY2xjawFamwZleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHSdzPuHEW46mjRZFmOwoaVnV-md2gZMb4G7Qf0-bTyv1r9p6K-7yRaeOTQ_aem_-qHKNtloOgAy8kasp1Q92w

That is what we have been told. It's sad that he's attacked several accusers and stood with the perpetrator instead. I was once asked to go to revival services at Family Baptist Church, but, knowing that David Hyles was there and was going to be one of the speakers I declined the invite. I can't recommend the church, especially in light of what has happened. I have been a member of several churches that have gone through this kind of thing, and NONE OF THEM handled this well, instead covering it up Lord help us if we continue to allow this kind of thing to go unreported, and undealt with. I have to say this, though. I do feel sorry for his wife and his kids. This has got to be hard on them. The unwanted attention that this has brought upon them is most likely unbearable. I'm praying for them, and for Family Baptist Church. It's a very sad situation.

The Trump Bible

That's not what the Bible is talking about, TGL. Stop being so intentially obtuse. -
While reading through several of the online newsfeeds I get every day, I was sent this article. It states that there are several reasons why Christians are nowadays questioning their faith in the Bible, God, and religion and are leaving the faith. I find it strange that the MSM is trying so hard to help Christians leave Christianity by undermining people's faith. But, this is the spirit of the antichrist. Do we have any of these situations in our lives causing us to question our faith? Why? https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/relationships/why-people-are-questioning-their-christian-beliefs/ss-AA1o3aVg?ocid=chromentpnews&pc=U526&cvid=4ab91a5f70df436d89d1ea1d891390cd&ei=31#image=1

The Trump Bible

I tend to agree with you. I don't buy these kinds of Bibles outside Schofield and Thompson. I have friends who buy every Bible that comes out, ie, Tony Evans Study Bible, Jimmy Swaggart Study Bible, etc. It's man worship as far as I'm concerned. Those people who put out these Bible's should just sell the notes... -
I'm sorry, but most Christians jump to the attitude that "Christian" schools are the answer. Most are just a public school with the word "Christian" shoved in front of the name....the there are the ones like the one I grew up in...Peoria Christian School, that was like a public school in some ways, with the Bible, Christian Flag, etc pledges recited every day. The problems with the on I went to was that I went to is that they allowed immigrants (in our case, it was the Grand National Tai Kwan Do of S. Korea, to come as students. They no more knew the Lord or had interest in his ways than an elephant has in the ways of the lion) and troubled American children to be students. In the five years that I attended PCS we had one student who was removed with sexual related problems. Then, a frien of mine who was very troubled was arrested and removed from the school because he had tried to kill his mother, shooting her in the face. In the weeks preceeding this action he had run away from home and robbed a gas station in Kentucky, firing shots at the clerk. He did over 10 years in prison for attempted murder. I would recommend that parents really check ANY school they send their children to, Christian or not. My siblings did a lot of homeschooling, and it worked well. The kids eventually went back to public or Christian schools, but they were on top of things. If parents keep an eye on what's going on, most of the time they'll know what to do.

The Trump Bible

I've had a lot of friends buy the one Trump is advocating. They've been trying to get me to purchase it, but I don't need it. I'm happy using the Old Schofield or my Thompson Chain Reference. -
I have several relatives who are Roman Catholic....an uncle and aunt in Missouri, and our two nieces in Pennsylvania are just a few. I've talked to them about the Lord (my aunt who married a Catholic 20 some odd years ago was married to and IFB youth pastor until he was caught having an affair leading to her divorcing him) and they all say that they know Christ as their savior. In most I see very little if any proof of this. Recently, in Pope Francis' trip to Asia he stated that all religions are a path to God. He condones this and preaches this. This is heresy and the spirit of antichrist. Here is a clip of his statement amongst the youth gathered from different religions while he was in Asia.... https://dailycitizen.focusonthefamily.com/pope-francis-says-all-religions-lead-to-god-a-strong-bishop-corrects-him/?refcd=873402&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=evangelism_2024&utm_content=article%2F%3Frefcd%3D873402&fbclid=IwY2xjawFWkhhleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHe6tIW_-NfMMfepslc9xysy9p0CYTkonsEXAs9rJFVvA5GQM-G0aoBukAg_aem_t2FeRCunR1WXoMTMOrtKGQ

Though TGL probably means well, ONCE AGAIN he is focusing on other people and THEIR money. I'm not a fan of TD Jakes, but, he writes books and makes money from those books. Whatever he makes is his, and what he does with it is between himself and God—the same with any other preacher who gains notoriety. Everyone that I have ever listened to has preached on tithing. Do they tithe? I don't know, and neither does TGL. To be honest, it's nobody's business but their own. Concerning their salaries, that is between the churches they pastor and themselves. Whether TGL tithes or not, I do not know and don't care. to know. But, his constantly bringing up this subject repeatedly, creating new threads on the subject is unfruitful. I will say, though, that I don't believe any person claiming to be a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ should be owning or traveling in a jet he owns, whether he's bought it with earnings outside of his pastoral ministry or not. It doesn't look good. I recall the verse where Jesus told the rich young ruler to sell all he had and follow him. The rich man found it hard to do so. It also calls to mind the verses that tell us that whatever isn't of faith is sin, and that the just shall live by faith. Those who are doing as TGL speaks of seem to be relying on their wealth instead of faith. In my opinion these pastors/speakers should be furthering the Gospel of Christ with money that goes beyond their monthly living expenses. Souls are more important than self-reliance through wealth.

It's foolish and wasteful when it's detracting from the mission laid out by the Lord for us to do? The adversary uses many subjects to rabbit trail Christians. Does this affect your salvation in any way? No! Does it enhance your walk with the Lord? Doubtful. Like I said before the subject laid fallow because it is of little importance to anything or anyone.
-
Seems like you're just arguing to argue. Look, the subject laid fallow showing that nobody agrees with a sixth day crucifixion and there's no justification for it. Commonality or not, what the Bible says is all that matters. We're told in scripture to avoid foolish questions, and this, my friend, seems to fit the bill.
-
I don't think so...I believe Jerry has shown the fallacy in a 6th day crucifixion. So, it actually deals with the subject matter.

One, not all churches are the same size, and pay for a pastor is based on what a congregation can provide. @HappyChristian and her husband have a small church. I don't remember just how small, but her husband may have to work an outside job. I am a member of a church that runs between 80 and 120 people. Our pastor receives a much larger amount than most pastors in chuches of the same size because we have several members who are more affluent. My mother in Illinois attends a church that runs between 500-750 people. Their pastor is paid a larger than average salary, benefits, and love offerings. It really seems that you should be able to understand economics and nonprofit entities.

Scientists now believe that all life on Earth sprang from one being...But, they still believe that it was an amoeba. It takes far more faith to believe that 530+millions of years ago that the small amount of slime crawled out of the ocean to form into all of these species. How can anyone believe that tripe? It takes far more faith to believe that, especially in light of these questions.... 1. Where did this planet come from if the universe began with a "Big Bang"? 2. How could there have been a "Big Bang" to start everything if there was NOTHING? Is this REAL science? 3. Why is it so hard to admit that their "beliefs" are nothing more than a series of faulty theories? There could be many more questions asked, but these are just a few I raised in my "science" class many years ago. The article below was what caused me to post this thread.... https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/all-life-on-earth-comes-from-one-single-ancestor-and-it-s-so-much-older-than-we-thought/ar-BB1q1hjt?ocid=chromentpnews&pc=U526&cvid=8da0ede3e5ad43a5a703dc1b83c4c5e2&ei=40 Scientists are correct that we all came from on being...God who in turn created Adam, or flesh and skin father!

Christians and artificial intelligence ?
BrotherTony replied to TheGloryLand's topic in General Chats
At one time Vivian was using a cellphone that CEVA Logistics had for use in the warehouse. If I'm not mistaken, it was an iPhone. She didn't like it that well, so she started using her personal cellphone (Motorola G7) to stay in contact throughout the day. We've never had any problem with the alleged "listening in" that TGL puts forth. Personally, even if they were listening in, our lives here are boring to others because we talk about church, God, and family. There's nothing we say in our daily conversations that anyone who hears would be frightened by, SO, listen away! The sky isn't falling as someone is suggesting.
