Cleanse Me
1.Search me, O God, and know my heart today;
Try me O Saviour, know my thoughts I pray:
See if there be some wicked way in me:
Cleanse me from ev'ry sin, and set me free.

2. I praise Thee, Lord, for cleansing me from sin:
Fulfil Thy Word, and make me pure within;
Fill me with fire, where one I burned with shame:
Grant my desire to magnify Thy name.

3. Lord, take my life, and make it wholly Thine:
Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine;
Take all my will, my passion, self, and pride;
I now surrender: Lord, in me abide.

4. O Holy Ghost, revival comes from Thee:
Send revival--start the work in me:
Thy Word declares Thou wilt supply our need:
For blessing now, O Lord, I humbly plead.

When I Survey the Wondrous Cross

1. When I survey the wondrous cross, in which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss, and pour contempt on all my pride.

2. Forbid it, Lord! that I should boast, save in the death of Christ my God:
All the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them to His blood.

3. See, from His head, His`hands, His feet, sorrow and love flow mingled down:
Did e'er such love and sorrow meet, or thorns compose so rich a crown?

4. Were the whole realm of nature mine, that were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.

Tell me people, do we really need new songs to sing when such heart wrenching words were penned by men of God?
