Gracias Ginger, mucho gusto a conocerle.

I learned Spanish sitting in the park of a very VERY rural "pueblo" in Campeche named Hopelchen. A town of 6,000 or so.
I did it for the Lord. The politics are niether here nor there for me. I try to stay un political. Serving the Lord in Chetumal, Quintana Roo I avoid the obvious heated arguments of Bush's policies (Mexico over all detests Bush) and of Mexican's rights in America. I serve another King, I tell them, whose policy is to see all men saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Whose kindgom will be established and ruled with a rod of iron.

You will never really learn a language with a book. Being almost tri lingual (English, Spanish, Mayan), I can say that it's better to have it explained to us after we sort of speak it. Think about it. In Jr High they began to teach you about verbs, nouns, adverbs, tenses and objects. AFTER we already spoke English.

God bless,

Calvary

You're right Calvary. The best way to learn any language is complete immersion. I learned more Korean by interacting with Koreans and by my three weeks in Korea than I have with my studying.
