Big Bang

Having encountered "Big Bang Christians" before, I thought this piece from Answers In Genesis was worth posting.

Q: Did God use the big bang to bring the universe into existence?

A: No, although many Christians say that we can believe in the big bang?as long as you say God did it. But here?s the big problem with such a scenario. By saying that God created the universe using the big bang, one is really saying that what God said He did in His Word is not true.

Genesis 1 teaches that God made the earth first, covered with water. The sun, moon, and stars were not made until the fourth day of creation.

The big bang, however, teaches that the sun and stars came before the earth, and then the earth formed as a hot molten blob that cooled over a long period of time?before water formed. This is the opposite of what God?s Word clearly states, which means that Christians cannot add the big bang to the Bible.

Sadly, when Christians tell people they can believe in the big bang, they?re also in essence saying, ?But you don?t have to take God at His Word.? Such compromise has undermined the authority of God?s Word in our Western nations.

A common retort for that is that God gave it in the bible how we would understand it, and human error confused the days.

Another biblical problem, is that death was a curse that man brought. Everything, including animals, would of lived forever if man never sinned. With the big bang, is usually tons of evolution, even if they say man never evolved they say the animals did... so why did they die before man sinned?

Also, I've found in talking with "christian" big bangers, is I ask them why they think God is so weak. An almighty God would make the universe exactly how he wanted it, not start a process so it would form. The God of the Bible created a universe in 6 days, as big as He could of, as perfect as possible. If it wasn't as big as possible, as perfect as possible, He wouldn't of needed to rest. If God used a big bang, you're saying that he couldn't get it right the first time... that he could create all the matter, but wasn't strong enough to put it where he wanted. You're also saying that he set off a big bang, watched it for millions/billions of years, then rested when the greatest creation, man, came about. Why would he watch planets cool off for millions of years, and then when man came around go take a nap????? How weak is this god?
