Why atom over RSS.
I didn't know there was a difference?
Atom feeds are RSS feeds that follow a standard. This means that an Atom feed is more likely to be viewed the way it should be on your reader as opposed to looking right only on a very particular reader (maybe one that you don't have). Kind of like universal web pages: back in the old days, you had to have both IE and Netscape installed to view ALL the pages. Most web pages looked good on one or the other, but not both. Now most (responsible) people like to standardize their web pages so that they can be viewed with any browser. This is exactly what Atom is about. A feed standard.
