Members Anthony John Thornton Posted June 17, 2023 Members Posted June 17, 2023 I'm wondering if anyone on this board has experience with people, Christians, or churches in New England, say Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire in particular? Quote
Administrators Pastor Matt Posted June 17, 2023 Administrators Posted June 17, 2023 Does Ct count? I've lived in New England my whole life, what would you like to know? I pastor in Ct and traveled all over New England as a child as my father is an evangelist here. I been to probably 95% of all IFB churches in NE. Anthony John Thornton 1 Quote

I was in the NE over Christmas. Perhaps the Lord would call me to NE in some capacity. Quote
Members BrotherTony Posted June 18, 2023 Members Posted June 18, 2023 I like CT, but, I also like ME. At one time my wife and I considered moving to ME to help in church planting. I don't recall the mans name, but he had already been there with his wife for nearly 10 years. Anthony John Thornton 1 Quote

There is an excellent church in the next town over from Alfred. It is Pastor Todd Bell in Sanford, ME. It still is a soul-winning church https://calvaryofsanford.org/ If God ever calls you to New England, let me know. We'll do what we can to help. BrotherTony and Anthony John Thornton 2 Quote
Members SureWord Posted June 20, 2023 Members Posted June 20, 2023 A friend of mine from Upstate NY helped a pastor start a church in Maine. They knocked every door in the town to get people to come out. It was hard work. Not as easy as starting one in the South but their are people up there who would go if there was an IFB church to go to. Unfortunately ,I can't recall the name of the church. I need to call my friend it's been a while. I'll see if I can get the name of the church. Anthony John Thornton 1 Quote

I've brought groups and helped a few churches in Maine get started. @Anthony John Thornton I will say this about New England. While it is hard due to hard hearts, the IFB Christians/churches we do have really support each other. We all seem to help each other out when a church is in need. Anthony John Thornton 1 Quote
Members Joe Chandler Posted June 27, 2023 Members Posted June 27, 2023 There are quite a few good churches in Maine and New Hampshire. Mom and Dad lived in Athens, ME for many years. I go to a church in Standish, ME when I am up there. I met the pastor of Granite State Baptist church in Concord, NH. You'll just have to pray for God's wisdom and will. Anthony John Thornton 1 Quote
