HOW SHOULD WE VOTE?

Some Christians advocate voting for only solid, clearly born again Christian candidates who clearly walk the walk even as they talk the talk.

...Other Christians are fine with voting for anyone who claims to be a Christian regardless of whether they actually are or not and regardless if their walk doesn't match their talk.

...Some Christians say it only matters what a candidates view of the Constitution is while some only care about one or a few litmus test points such as a candidates stance on abortion, or military matters, or immigration, etc.

...Then there are those Christians who believe we should vote for whoever they believe has the best chance of winning, with little actual regard as to their status of salvation or walk in life.

Given all these differing views and approaches it's little wonder many Christians don't know how to determine their vote or if to vote. It's also little wonder Christians have such little impact upon the election of national candidates.

So, do we cast our vote for whoever is on the ballot which claims to be Christian regardless of their actual status of salvation? Regardless of their walk not matching their talk? Regardless of their faulty views of Scripture? Regardless of their ungodly yokings and associations?

It matters not what a Christian thinks, what matters is what the Lord has to say about it.  The Lord says not to yoke with unbelievers.  The Lord says not to yoke with hereticks.

The matter is settled really.  Early on there were several men running for President who had a biblical testimony of salvation.  Two are southern baptists and all are ecumenical.  Still, they are saved by the blood and a Christian is at liberty to support whomever they choose.  We cannot all know each man's failings or unrepentant sins if they exist and that is why we have liberty here.  Now there is one man left with a biblical testimony of being born-again the bible's way.  A Christian should pray for and support this man.  If a Christian does not like this man, they should pray for him anyway and stay home in protest.  Lack of voter participation tells the party that folks were not happy with who was presented to run for office.  At the same time, Christians have an obligation to serve, to be the salt and light of this world.  You John should run for office, plenty of men here are capable of holding public office across this nation.

If Christians in general had higher standards when it came to the political process, we'd have more and better candidates.  Trouble is, especially with the evangelicals, most of them are not really christians at all, but lost people who have created false images of God and Christ to suit their lusts.  So is it any wonder that a Presbyterian or Mormon are considered "Christian"?  Not at all.

Most Christians in America disagree with most of what you put forth. This shows in their actions and voting. The handful of Christians who take more seriously the application of Scripture in their lives are few and unable to effect the outcome of the presidential election.

Thus far this election cycle a large percentage of Christian votes have been cast for Trump. The rest have been divided between the others; now just between Cruz and Kasich with Cruz having the edge on Kasich.

America has had many secular and cultural Christians, those who called themselves Christian for the sake of getting Christian votes, ecumenicists, even a Catholic and a JW turned Presbyterian, and a few actual Christians. Through it all, God was and remains on the throne.
