In three weeks time we will have been married for 48 years and we have been perfectly happy in the Lord, without involving a Roman demigod which is what their saints are.  The so called "Saint Valentine" is just a RCC renaming of Eros with the same attributes.  .

It's rarely called "Saint" Valentines Day anymore, usually just Valentines Day, and when "Saint" is used it's usually marked as "St" and most folks don't pay any more attention to what that means, or even know, than when they say the name of the city "Saint Louis" or see it written as "St Louis". Whatever religious connection the Day may have had is now mostly lost as it's been transformed into just another secular Day to promote commercialism and any definition of "love" that may sell something. Many would likely find the origins of the so-called heart symbol to be of concern, or interest, if they knew what it was. The West, and it seems especially Americans, don't know history and don't care about the past. They live "in the moment", oblivious to the past and ignorant of or unconcerned how their actions will shape the future.
Members Invicta
I used to work in a newspaper which had a personal column, and often had entries such as "Thanks be to St Jude for favours received". One advertiser insisted that his ad was in the top ten as he said the saints didn't read further than that. Â Of course the St. is dropped to hide the fact that is a saints day. Â But whatever we call it it is only to hide the fact that it is the Day of Eros, the god of erotic love. Â Â
