I just got the latest Casting Crowns cd today and the first song is called "What This World Needs." I've listened to just that song several times now because it's got really amazing lyrics. It's what I like about this group, they don't mince words.

I LOVE this song...the only thing I disagreed with was the Bible version thing, but the song is awesome and I've shared it with several people. This is my husbands favourite Casting Crowns albun.

I didn't care for the music. The lyrics are okay; but the music just isn't that good actually. I'm surprised because they do have some good stuff.

The first time I heard this song I was just like, wow.... I thought it was great.
I think East to West may be my favorite song on there, though. I heard it a while back on youtube and loved it. I listened to it nearly every day for a while. :frog

My husband and I like "Slow Fade" the best because of the timely message it offers. His second favourite is "The Altar and the Door" and then "What This World Needs".

Slow Fade has some good lyrics, too. Broken lives and broken families don't happen overnight, it's a process. Casting Crowns is strong against compromise, worldliness and relevance, and strong for reaching out to those in need, wherever they are. That's very refreshing, I think. The Altar and the Door is also very good. I'm listening to that one now. :wink

I do like Casting Crowns. I apologize for the thread jack, but there are many good authors writing good stuff. Might I suggest Kathryn Scott's At the foot of the cross (video cuts off) and Kim Hill's You are still Holy (no video). You are still Holy is one of my favorite songs.

What this world needs is Christians who will "Love not this world, neither the things that are in the world...for all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is not of the father but is of the world."

This is the world's music, I don't care how much they put "Jesus" in it. Bible verses in a Playboy magazine doesn't make it right for Christians. I played this clip on my computer with the volume as low as it would go. Its much worse than even the cartoon music or video game music we make our kids mute.
