The term 'old paths' is a misnomer as used in todays IFB circles.

My old paths would be in the 50s and 60s.

The old paths for the 50s and 60s IFB; would be the time preceding their time.

And So-On.

The true Old Paths would be those created by Jesus and walked by Apostle Paul.

Want to find the Old Paths......Read the Bible

Thought to Ponder. If time exist long enough; We will be looked upon as the Old Path.

This is an issue that has grieved me much. The Lord has greatly convicted me concerning the subject of this post and placed me on a journey that I hope my fellow IFB preacher friends will join me on.

That's an excellent article.

May we all say with Simeon, “ “My endeavor is to bring out of Scripture what is there, and not to thrust in what I think might be there. I have a great jealousy on this head; never to speak more or less than I believe to be the mind of the Spirit in the passage I am expounding.” And may we never be guilty of the pride that would rather promote our hOBby horses rather than submit our sermons to the shape and emphasis of the biblical text. Instead of looking for thoughts ‘that will preach’ may we look for sermons that are actually there…in the biblical text.
