A few places in the Old Testament there is reference made to the nation of Israel that God will give them a new heart and also make a new covenant with them.

Reference to a new heart:

Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you' date=' and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.[/i']

Reference to a new covenant:

Jer 31:31 Behold' date=' the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: [/i']

It is generally accepted that we are currently in an age when there is a new covenant with God in place. Now I know that the references above are promises from God to Israel. And then in the New Testament (Covenant) there is scripture that makes it clear that God has now included the Gentiles in the new covenant.

A couple of questions:

Does that mean that God will give a new heart to all Christian believers?

If so, when does God give the believer the referenced new heart?

Once God has given the new heart; does this mean the old heart is gone?

I'm still interested in hearing people's thoughts (with scripture if you have a reference) concerning this matter. This is something I'm praying on and would appreciate input.

Thank you.
