Members trc123 Posted October 1, 2008 Members Posted October 1, 2008 .....the beginning of a new adventure and life. Yes my fellow believers, we live in exciting times and may actually be witnessing more end-time prophecies fulfilled before our very eyes. I personally believe it will get tougher for everyone (even Christians) as the Lord prepares believers and non-believers; just at the right moment.....I'll be gone, snatched out of here and in the presence of my Savior and King. With headlines like these:* Stocks Fluctuate Ahead of Vote- AP * Congress leaders optimistic on revived bailout- AP * Credit markets tight as possible Senate vote looms- AP * Government launches mortgage aid program- AP * Manufacturing index plummets in September- CNNMoney.com * GE shares tumble on concerns about 2009 earnings- Reuters * Oil down on stronger US crude, gasoline supplies- AP * Ford's US sales drop 34 percent in September- AP * Stop Blaming the Shorts! Members Anon Posted October 1, 2008 Members Posted October 1, 2008 True, and we know to expect Christ any day, any time. ***However*** People during the Great Depression and the World Wars thought the same thing...many thought it was the end of the world...yet they survived, and so did their grandchildren and great grandchildren.... Its definitely end times, but I can also easily see several more generations before the Lord returns. Quote

What Suzy said :Green Even so, I do agree it's such a blessing to know that no matter how bad things or, or how much worse they may get, our Lord IS coming for us and we can look with hope towards that blessed moment, that most wonderful "twinkling of an eye" in time. :thumb Quote
Members kevinmiller Posted October 1, 2008 Members Posted October 1, 2008 Also, remember that America is not the world. We have the tendency to think that way many times but just because it gets tough in America, doesn't mean that it's the end of the world :wink Quote

Members John81 Posted October 2, 2008 Members Posted October 2, 2008 Oh come on now! The mainstream media talking heads and even some politicians have all proclaimed if this economic crisis in America isn't solved by the bailout we'll have a worldwide recession. Surely they wouldn't lie to us...now would they??? :wink Quote
Members trc123 Posted October 2, 2008 Author Members Posted October 2, 2008 As others have pointed out on this board, even under socialism we are to subject ourselves to those in authority over us. I'm still just so excited when I think about the Lord Jesus Christ coming for his bride and the we returning to earth behind our Savior and King. Along with that excitement though, I'm saddened by my feeble attempts to bring more of my family with me by not taking more careful consideration to the opportunities God has given me to effectively witness and put the Gospel in front of them. Please pray for me concerning, God has been speaking much to my heart concerning this and perhaps I'm listening more these days! Quote
Members John81 Posted October 2, 2008 Members Posted October 2, 2008 Yes, I look so forward to Christ coming for us but at the same time I want my family to be ready to go as well. For the most part there is no way for me to effectively witness to my family anymore. I did so a lot after first coming to Christ, and then again some years later, but they all tired of it and refuse to discuss "religion" with me anymore. That's why I pray that God would send that someone to them whom the Holy Ghost may use to reach them for Christ. Quote
