 we all have bad or off days. Who's the guy who was or is still in prison from the California (?) creation institute?

Kent Hovind is the only "creationist" person who is in federal prison for income tax evasion.  I don't think he was from California (ICR), I think he lived in Florida.  He's been in prison since 2007, I think.

Really. Huh. I saw him in person twice, as well, and found him to be funny, intelligent and well-spoken. He also came across as very assured and familiar with his information. Maybe to some that seems arrogant, but honestly, I just didn't see it. Not arguing what you said, just saying my experience was different.

You probably have a high tolerance for people like that. I usually do and like I said, don't get put-off very easily by crude or puffed up preachers. I have to say, though, that I wasn't the only one who felt that way about him when he came around to speak. Maybe it was a bad week for him.

Yes, he got 10 years which I think is ridiculous. What they got him on is that he wasn't deducting taxes from his employees paychecks.

I enjoy Ken Ham's personality, although I have not heard him debate.  I like reading his books as well, particularly those on racism.   Ham is affiliated with Answers in Genesis.

I'm also familiar with Hovind....although I haven't listened to him much.   He has good stuff too although I seem to remember he has a bit of odd theories but I can't remember what they are now.   I do know he unfortunately lost credibility with the tax evasion thing, even though it was a relatively small thing.

I watched Ken Ham "debate" Hugh Ross and some other guy (yes, 2 against 1) on The John Ankerberg Show a few years ago.  It was actually 3 against 1, because Ankerberg is completely infatuated with Hugh Ross...Ankerberg says that he used to be "young earth", but he credits Hugh Ross with enlightening him as to the earth's age actually being millions of years old.

Anyway, it didn't go well for Mr. Ham during that show...I hope he does well against Nye though.
