DO NOT FEAR FOR I AM WITH YOU

I recently memorized Isaiah 41:10 for a Bible Study. I find myself repeating it to myself often throughout the day.

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. -- Isaiah 41:10

Notice that the scripture doesn't say that we should fear the Republican Party. Neither political party, according to the Bible, will strengthen us, and help us. A Republican President isn't going to uphold us with their righteous right hand.

We Christians must move ahead in our faith drawing our strength from a single source, God the Father.

A news story in the Washington Post offers a timely example of how this is true.

The news story is headlined, "George H.W. Bush is witness at same-sex marriage in Maine." The former President appeared as an official witness at a same sex "wedding" recently. Maine bent over to the sodomites in their decades long campaign for social and moral approval in 2012 with the approval of sodomy based marriage. Evangelical Christians offered noble resistance for a while, but eventually collapsed under the immense political and cultural force that "gays" have marshalled.

Evangelicals stood alone. Roman Catholics in Maine offered tepid resistance at best. Republicans in the Bush era were doing everything they possibly could to nudge the approval of sodomy into the cultural and moral mainstream.

Because of this indefensible collapse of Christianity in Maine we are now relentlessly assaulted with nonsense like this in serious news journals like the Washington Post:

“This is such a wonderful time for change in our legal system,” she added. “Who would be best to help us acknowledge the importance of our wedding as our friends and as the former leader of the free world. When they agreed to do so we just felt that it was the next acknowledgment of being ‘real and normal.’” Clement, 60, said she and Thorgalsen, 55, have been together for 12 years, during which she helped raise her new wife’s now-adult daughters.

Those are comments that the poor, deprived, discriminated against Bonnie Clement made in an email from her "honeymoon" in London. How decent and thoughtful of her and Helen, her partner in the crime of sodomy, to think to invite the former leader of the free world to witness their "wedding."

Here we find articulated for the first time the new Bush Doctrine -- "Sodomy is real and normal." The entire chattering class -- politicians, journalists, entertainers, artists, teachers ... even most ministers -- are in agreement. They are all now allowing themselves to be witnesses to the destruction of a once great Christian civilization.

And if you think I'm being too harsh read this article by my good friend Amy Contrada ... and weap.

Acts 4:12

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

For several decades now Christians on the "Religious Right" have been voting Republican while claiming that only by doing so can America be saved and restored.

During that time the Republican Party Platform and Republican candidates have said one thing while doing another. The actions of Republicans have not matched their words nor the words of "leaders" within the Religious Right.

Above we have just two of the many recent examples of what Republicans are doing for America. The first openly homosexual federal appeals judge is confirmed by the Senate, UNANIMOUSLY! This means that not even one Republican Senator voted nay.

Then we have President Bush the First signing off on a homosexual wedding, knowing full well the political and cultural implications of doing so. This is the same Bush who couldn't even fake being a Christian or conservative when running for president regardless of how much his handlers coached him. Even so, when there was a very clear choice between him and another Republican candidate in '92, the Religious Right gave him their full support.

Later we had President Bush the Second, who had a VP with a not only open homosexual daughter, but a daughter who was openly pro-homosexual "rights", to which the VP gave his full support. Bush the Second went on to appoint more open homosexuals to governmental positions than any previous president.

Today we see Republicans finally coming out of the closet on the matter and openly giving their support to homosexual "rights" and the Religious Right has little to say except for "don't look at that" while they declare them to be conservatives because of their stand on financial matters.

Any form of saving or restoring America can only come through the divine intervention of Almighty God; not through voting Republican. We all know the passage in Chronicles which tells what is necessary to lift a nation out of the pit. We all know what the New Testament says and demonstrates with regards to how we are to change nations and the world through the spreading of the Gospel, the making of disciples and allowing Christ to live in us for all to see.

Will we do the "hard" work of praying and fasting for our nation? Will we take on the "difficult" task of surrendering ourselves to Christ so others see Him rather than us? Will we take on the "burden" of spreading the Gospel and making disciples?

Or, will we do more of the same, taking the easy road of politics and near blind support of Republicans as we offer up tacit prayers that God will bless such?

May more and more of us come to take a bold stand as did our brother Joshua and determine that we will serve the Lord!

There's only one Sword the Christian ought to carry fighting against the Devil, & this fight that all Christians are involved in is a fight against the Devil, & that's the Sword of the Lord, the Holy Scriptures, placing their faith in God.

bad days are coming for Christians, but don't forget we have a powerful God, who hates sin more than we do.

Yes, its coming, & its going to be very difficult on us American Christians, for we have been free to almost do as we please, & do not know what its like not to have the freedoms we've enjoyed.

How would today's American Christians reacted under the government that was in place during Jesus' life time & especially at His death on the cross.

Joh 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
