This is a church that cares for its own members and building only. They care very much for its appearance, and seek mega growth in size and members. Millions of its dollars, that all stays locally or in its four walls. Missionary work, along with those ministry’s that are in need of help are on the back burners, they need to buy more Huge mega screens T.Vs. and that supper surround sound systems first. Watch out my friends, if you are in one of these churches. Flee to a church, that is seeking the lost and helping others.

Doesn't sound like a New Testament Church, of the kind that Christ died for.

True, but people are loving it, and these churches are growing all over the place. Soon the way you will know if you're in -the right church, will be the size of its membership. The more does not mean the better in this case.  :(

Christians are to be known for the love one for another, which means it's supposed to be so obvious folks can readily see it, but that can be hard to find even in our own churches.

Why continually look at other churches for something to pick at when we have plenty to contend with in our own lives, families and churches?

Yes, I know another of your threads got locked so you had to start another one, but how about something positive?

That is false presumption though. Bigger doesn't necessarily mean worse either. I know churches that have 700-100 members that are as doctrinally solid and loving as it gets and give hundreds of thousands of dollars to missions. I know churches with 30-50 members who can't even articulate the plan of salvation and have to pull teeth to get anything out of the once-a-year offering for missions. There is variability throughout the spectrum. Church size alone is not an indicator of the quality of of said church.

The health and walk of a church should be measured in how closely the members as a whole are following the commands for them in the Bible.  Modest dress, Godly music, Biblically faithful to requirements of Pastor, Deacon, Lord's Supper, Baptism, etc.  Is the church missions oriented and do the members give cheerfully and freely?  Such a church could have 5 members or 5,000 or more.

5,000 ?

Why yes, how many were at the First Baptist Church of Jerusalem?  Personally, I like the smaller churches but will go wherever the Lord wants me to.

The need and Love of Money kicks in over 1,000 members. This should not be, but the chances of it to happen are much higher in my opinion. I want my church to grow, but if it ever gets too big, and it starts loosing control, I'm out of there. For we are not committed to a life time membership to any one church only, for life. Some Christians will stay in one church, even if the new pastor is more to the liberal side. :(

Just visit any mega church, and watch and see. But not on t.v, there you will not see what is happening behind the curtains.

Any mega church? If I found one with 990 people would it be in better shape than one with 1010?

I understand what you're trying to say, but I would caution you on making arbitrary generalizations like this without some kind of data to back up your claim. You can't say that any church over 1000 members is out of control. I would hesitate to even generalize and say that having over 1000 members makes a church more likely to be that way when there are plenty of churches well below that threshhold who are worse off. As I said before, church size is not a direct indicator of its health.

What about the leading of the Holy Ghost?  Is it scripturally ok to hop from church to church?
