When my babies were born, I took my wife to the hospital. When I brought my kids home from that hospital, I protected them in a child restraint "car seat". When they were sick, I trusted in another worldly thing.....I took them to the doctor. When my neighbor's aggressive dog, a chow, kept coming over to my house, attacked my dog, ripped her all up, then threathened my eight year old son, I 'put the dog down'. Just like 1 Tim115 is saying a fire extinguisher is a safety device we use to put out a fire, a gun is a worldly 'tool' we sometimes need for protection just like your car seat, the roof over your head, shoes for your feet, a hard hat, a winter coat, or any other 'thing' you must use to survive in this physical world. If someone is so sanctimonious they want to judge those who "trust" in guns, then don't "trust" in any of the things I listed above. Let your kid die and your house burn down.

It reminds me of the dude that was on his roof during the big flood. Along comes a truck, a boat, and then a helicopter, After telling them all. "no thanks.....i'm trusting God to help me": So the man drowns, gets to Heaven and asks God why He didn't help, to which the Lord replies, "i sent you a truck a boat, and a helicopter". God gave us "things" to survive in this world.....If somebody breaks into my house and endangers my wife or kids....and I can get to one of my guns in time to stop him, I'm going to pray, shoot if I have to, and then thank GOD for blessing me with a gun.
