Members swathdiver
My wife has been witnessing to a former co-worker for some time now. They were laid off together over a year ago and this woman is still depressed and hasn't found new work yet. Several times we've invited her to visit our church after my wife explained the errors of a modern-charismatic church nearby but even after saying she'll come, she's never showed up. Of course that was during the time of that 20/20 hit piece! Well tonight my wife recounted her latest facebook posting. She was so happy to have been admitted as a member into an AME Church. African Methodist Episcopalian Church. She was astounded that 3 members walked over and each handed her a $20 which she put right back into the offering which followed her introduction. My "Commie Radar" went off with that one, did yours? As most of you probably know this group affiliates itself with those old Soviet front groups the National and World Council of Churches. They admitted a goat into the membership but hey, if you're not following the bible, why bother following the doctrines of Christ? Please pray for this poor wretch. She's been deceived into believing that she can prosper on her own smarts and has gone from bad to worse spiritually in my opinion. Please pray that more people will enter her life and share the Gospel with her. Our blessed hope is that the words of the Lord will not return void in that Laodicean church! Members John81
Such a shame. I've known people who have got caught up in false churches, believing all the charismatic stuff going on was signs they were in the right place or that some repeated liturgy was their spiritual answer. In all cases, most of it came down to their emotions. Praying...
Members Covenanter
My only knowledge of the AME church is that Paul Robeson's father (an escaped slave) became a Pastor, & was succeeded by his son - Paul's older brother. The only place Paul could sing in the 50s - except from the back of a lorry at the Peace Arch on the Canadian border, & a phone link to a Welsh Eistedfodd. How bad are such churches - social concern, or Christian communism, is not a problem, but accepting unregenerate into membership is very dangerous, both for the person & the church. In the UK there is some Gospel freedom within the denominations, but Methodist, Anglican, United Reformed & Baptist are generally not Bible-believing evangelical. Communism in a church is not a problem??? So you have no problem with President Obama's Trinity United Church of Christ??? No problem with the Westboro Baptists??? The Gospel and Communism are incompatible and vehemently opposed to one another. Karl Marx, a satanist, specifically wrote Das Kapital to separate man from God. Members JerryNumbers
This is what AME stands for, African Methodist Episcopal Church. I would not recommend either a Methodist or Episcopal.

Members JerryNumbers
For many years I saw church sign with AME on them, until a short time back I had no idea what they meant. Be several of them around this country.
