There's no reasoning with her. She's been saying stuff like that to me since we were babies. She does have a bit of a point though

Anyways, I made a friend yesterday and he was very interesting. He was a Satanist but, before you say anything bad or whatever, he said he left Christianity(catholicism) because all the people he saw that were Catholic were hateful. I see the same things with the protestant Christians here. If I were to convert, does that mean I have to be hateful like them?

Actually, she doesn't have a point.

Catholics are no more Christian than Odinists or Islamists.

I don't know what you are considering to be "hateful" here. If you could point out some specific examples that might help.

That said, no a Christian doesn't have to be hateful and in fact they should not be hateful at all.

Oh, by 'here' I didn't mean on this site. I mean at school at around where I live. I just feel bad for the kids who try to do the right thing and they get attacked for it (literally, physically attacked) and then the attackers say 'oh, we're Christians and we're better'. Like they can justify themselves just by saying that. : (

There are a lot of folks who call themselves Christians but they are not. In the Bible Jesus confronted some of these by asking them why they were callng Him Lord but not doing what He said. Elsewhere in the Bible we learn that in the end there will be many who claimed to be Christians being cast away because they were not true Christians.
