Do you know anything about the Community Christian Fellowship?

I googled it (several in several states) went to their web page and looked over their statement of faith (We Believe) and at a glance it appears OK.

But they have a "mysterious" membership method, "Discover" and "S.H.A.P.E." that isn't disclosed?

Also, I googled "Women of Purpose Fall Retreat" which was mentioned under CCF "Ministries" but, I refer to our ladies for comment on this.

I don't know anything about them but from the site you linked to I see they use the NIV, are CCM in music style etc. Also included are some phrases like this one "If you visit us, you will find that you are free to be yourself." which often seems to be code for we are a really worldly church and lost people or those living like it will be comfortable. I agree the statement of faith while limited looks ok.

All in all it looks to me like they prOBably teach the gospel clearly enough for people to get saved but it does not look like a good place to grow in the Lord. If it were me I wouldn't even bother to check it out more closely unless I had a good reason for doing so. Somebody will prOBably criticize me for being to judgmental but oh well, such is life. :coolsmiley:

I saw it on the news. A woman who was a member was shot for what appears to be no reason any of the parishoners could think of. I just wondered about the church since I had never heard of it.

I hope I didn't have anyone concerned for me. I'm not looking for a new church home.

I have never heard of them before, but this might be related. I am not sure though. Here is what thing for S.H.A.P.E. is http://www.purposedrivenchurch.com/en-US/SHAPE/welcome.htm I think that is what the class is because their website gives this little bit of info on the program:

You are invited to participate in a 4-week course that enables you to discover how God designed you to serve Him. This course enables you to find ways in which you can serve the Body of Christ as well as the community in which we live.

I forgot to add this. Discover is a class that:

You are invited to participate in a three-week orientation course that enables you to learn how CCF works, what we believe, and what we're all about. It's an opportunity to be with others who are also discovering CCF and being able to ask questions about this church.

I had never heard a congregational prayer while music played...different! I didn't like to see the purpose driven agenda so highly touted. Other than that the message was from scripture and after wading through the entire opening activities I could not listen to much of it. I've come to the conclusion there are brothers and sisters in this body of believers.

I have come across two that play music while praying. One in England and one in a baptist church in Coulommiers France. In the later, they also played instuments while the scripture was read. It turned out to be charismatic and at the end of about 50 mins of singing, three of the musicians started speaking in so called "tongues", all together. As this was at the end of their "bit" I assumed that this was prearranged.
