I've noticed for a while now that churches and preacher are not posting their preaching schedules much anymore. Am I missing something? I always enjoyed taking my family out to hear another preacher from out of town. I hate to refer to pastors of larger churches as "Big Name Preachers" but without having to call of these churches to find out who is going to be where, how do you find out these things anymore?

What is the deal with Pentecostals and Orbs? Seriously, does anyone know? Our local AOG church touts on their website the many sightings of 'orbs' in their church, claiming them to be somehow heavenly. I dont read in the Bible about 'yea, verily the holy Orbs shall surely come down to cleanse thy churches, 'ere Messiah returns'

Top 10 Rudest Things People Do in Church It doesn’t bother me anymore to hear a phone ringing during a church service. It’s part of life in the 21st century. But I’ll admit I was shocked last month when I heard a ringtone while I was preaching—and a woman seated in the third row pulled her phone out of her purse and began a lengthy conversation as if she were in the waiting room of a beauty parlor. That incident prompted me to post a question on Facebook the next day. I asked my friends to share their own stories of rudeness in church. That triggered an avalanche of pent-up frustration about crinkly peppermint wrappers, loud music, smelly feet (yes, someone took o…

Hello there, Well, God has made it apparent that The Crown College is where He wants me to go. I've never been there before, so the day I move into my dorm is the day I see the school for the first time. I have a lovely peace about it, and I know I am going to love it because that is where God is directing me at the moment. It will be my first time going to an out-of-state school. I was just wondering if there is anyone who goes there or is planning to go there who can give me any kind of tips? I don't really know what I'm asking for. lol It just seems like I can't find anything about this College unless it's from the official website. But I would just like to hear f…

I used to debate Watch Tower victims with Scripture but I learned long ago they’ll waste your time as long as you’ll let them. However, I do share a few things with them; allow me to share. Since “kingdom” is one of their buzz words, I quote them John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Most Watch Tower victims will state that they are NOT born again to which I reply “You’re not going to see God’s kingdom. Then if they'll allow it, you can try the approach I’ve outlined below which will send them running to their leaders with questions. 1. Establish that Jehovah is th…

This prospect called awhile ago, I gave them my email addy, and they sent the above message. #1. They want me to sketch a concept/design for them. #2 They apparently want "a few" other companies to do the same and... #3 They want us to drive to the location...only one company will get the job. Most all designers and sign companies give free quotes and, due to the nature of custom projects, many times those quotes take a good deal of time to complete; but are still free. Yet, when a designer actually designs something, that is considered working for the client... Nevertheless, many times unscrupulous prospects will take the "sketch" you so graciously submitted and…

Since the "Count Your Blessings" lacked interest... Here's a partial list of unfortunate circumstances I've had to deal with in life (before salvation): 1. I grew up in a home where the Lord Jesus Christ was NEVER talked about. 2. I attended a fraudulent “church” that lit candles and chanted long prayers that never told me how to get saved. 3. I was made to attend a godless public school system. 4. The world’s profane music and television molded my views as a young man. 5. NOONE ever presented a clear presentation of the gospel to me until I was in my 20s (To my knowledge, I had never met anyone claiming to be a blood-washed Bible-believer.) 6. I had no inter…

I thought since I love hymns and the wisdom behind their lyrics, I’d be obedient to the admonishment found in “Count Your Blessings.” A partial list of my blessings are: My sins are under the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; I have a copy the Bible; My wife and family; My church; My country is still free; God’s provision; God’s music; Fellowship with the brethren; Our garden; Praying with my children; The majestic scenery where I live… Please tell some of yours.

We dread hearing a doctor say those words. Some of us here today may have a cancer growing in our bodies at this very moment. As terrible as the thought of cancer is to us, I put it forward to illustrate a point. The human body was not made to be cancerous. When our cells are invaded by cancer, these cells are totally adverse to our normal body function. Many of us have lived long lives without cancer and never given it more than a passing thought. However, the greater number of us has had some brush with cancer either, personally, a loved one, friend, or acquaintance. Cancer’s effect on the human body is the closest relationship I could think of when attempting to p…

What are some good YouTube preaching videos, actual videos of the preaching, not just the audio preaching? I'm especially interested in playlists of sound preachers if anyone knows of them too.

A bit back our church did a tent meeting, and throughout the meeting we video-taped it, from the set up through to the end-and what an end it was! For fun, I made a short video with sme commentary, some music, giving an overview of the whole thing. This is the video. Don't get bored with any of it-its all short bits of various aspects of a tent meeting. I hope you watch and enjoy!

Exodus' Alan Chambers Offers Shocking Apology to Gay Community Exodus International, the oldest and largest Christian ministry dealing with faith and homosexuality, issued a shocking apology to the gay community for years of undue suffering and judgment at the hands of the organization and the church as a whole. The apology dovetails with the ministry’s 38th annual conference in Irvine, Calif. and the Thursday airing of the television broadcast “God & Gays” on Our America with Lisa Ling. On Ling’s program, Exodus President Alan Chambers, sits down with gay and lesbian people hurt by the church with the goal of reconciliation. “It is strange to be someone who has…

I’m 40 plus years old. I have friends and relatives close to my age that own Nintendo type game systems and spend much time on them!?! I feel very odd when I’m in the company of two or more “gamers” talking games. They’re really not aware how ridiculous their conversation is to the uninitiated. It definitely not just children who are being damaged by this type of media. Here are a few observations regarding this “final days” form of entertainment. Games… Waste your time, force you to listen to rock music, allow you to commit brutal murders, allow you to cast spells, teach you the tenets of the occult, force you to hear cursing, show you immodesty, allow you to gro…

The Bell Tolls for the 'New Majority' Next year should be a banner year for the GOP, and may yet be. Obamacare, a "train wreck" about to happen, says Democratic Sen. Max Baucus, goes into full effect Jan. 1, with the popular IRS as enforcer. The Obama media feel betrayed by the secret intrusions on First Amendment rights. Libertarians see the National Security Agency's data mining as a massive violation of Fourth Amendment rights. The White House is bedeviled by scandals, the second-term curse has caught up with the Obama presidency, and prospects for the U.S. economy seem dicier than a few months ago. History is also on the GOP's side. In the second midterm e…

Matthew 6:9,10 “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.” “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” How to please your Father: John 8:2 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. Who sent you? John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. To the rest of us earthly fathers, have a happy and blessed father's day.

Baseball added 14 teams; Cub fans got to see AND hear their team lose to more teams. 4. George Burns celebrated his 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th,70th, 80th, 90th and 100th birthdays. 5. Halley’s Comet passed Earth… twice. 6. Harry Caray was born… and died. Incredible, but true. 7. The NBA, NHL and NFL were formed, and Chicago teams won championships in each league. 8. The Great Sin of Trying to Make the Gospel Palatable One of the greatest failures of the contemporary church of America is our attempt to make the gospel of Jesus palatable to lost sinners—our effort to take away its offense, remove its reproach, water down its contents and explain away its standards. In doing so, we dishonor the Lord and contribute to the damnation of the lost. It’s time we wake up and repent of this worldly, faithless approach. There’s a story I often tell to illustrate the folly of trying to preach a palatable gospel. A doctor made an amazing scientific breakthrough, perhaps the greatest of all time. He discovered a cure for cancer that was 100% …

Ephesians 5:22-33 22Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28So ought men to love their wives…

Rolling with the punches “Rolling with the punches”--an idiom meaning to patiently take what is sent your way. When life comes at us full force, and everything seems to be helter-skelter, we usually strike out in anger. A thought, or deed, done in anger is usually the wrong way to handle a situation. Phli. 4:5 says, “Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.” Man reacts to disasters in four ways: 1. Anger, as already stated. An urge to “fight back”. 2. Frustration (Usually from unexpected tragedies) The “Why me” attitude. Self pity; downcast, or crying. 3. Bitterness (The worst reaction of all) Looks for…

My wife and I have withdrawn from the AARP because of their stand on queers. We don't get the so-called "perks" now. but can easily live without them We also quit shopping at J.C. Penny's, which was started by a Christian I hear, because of the same reason. I sent a message to them asking to be taken off their mailing list, and withdraw our charge card (we only have one major card). They threatened to turn in my name to the credit bureau, or whatever it's called thinking that would hurt me, but I don't give a hoot about their credit rating scale; never looked at mine, and never cared to. The Lord has been very, very good to us. Praise the Lord for His wondro…
