March 27, 2009 "Then they came for the dishwashing detergent..." Posted by David Kramer at March 27, 2009 11:08 PM Well, that didn't take long. After my previous blog about the "progressive" Left Coast state of Washington banning certain environmentally-"unfriendly" brands of dishwashing detergent, now comes word that it's the color of your car that is environmentally "unfriendly." From the Left Coast's "most progressive" state (Do I really need to tell you that I'm referring to the People's Republic of California?) comes the possibility that black-painted cars will be prohibited: "If California regulators get their way, auto makers may soon be forced to rewrite a …

Perversion Rising: ‘Book of Yeezus’ Replaces God With Rap Star Kanye WestThere's no lack of controversial Bible translations. The New International Version came under fire in 2011 for using gender-neutral language. The New American Bible also made headlines in 2011 for how it referred to the Virgin Mary. Perhaps the most offensive translation so far is the Queen James Bible, known as the Gay Bible, which argues that "homosexuality was first mentioned in the Bible in 1946 in the Revised Standard Version" and "anti-LGBT Bible interpretations commonly cite only eight verses in the Bible that they interpret to mean homosexuality is a sin." Now, we see a "Kanye West" version o…

(This so much reflects the state of much of what passes for Christianity in America today.) ‘Christian’ American Idol winner Carrie Underwood: I support same-sex ‘marriage’ LONDON, ENGLAND, June 11, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – Country songstress Carrie Underwood has told a British newspaper she supports redefining marriage, in part based on her Christian beliefs. The 2005 American Idol winner, who has strongly identified as a Christian, told the (UK) Independent, “As a married person myself, I don’t know what it’s like to be told I can’t marry somebody I love, and want to marry…I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people th…

I've had school mates and acquaintances that are homosexual. Very nice until you disagree with them. As far as I'm concerned they tend to be the least "tolerant" people on earth when it comes to others disagreeing with them concerning their lifestyle choices. http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/11/10/gay.marriage.protests.ap/index.html

..................I want to pet you." She never said that but for a time, as she tried in vain to overtake them, she was holding her tiny palm up in a petting motion. So we got some feed, the tame sheep came near, and we let her pet them.

Something our pastor sent out: "Convenient" Discipleship Jesus called us to "deny yourself, take up our cross and follow Him." Sadly, we are prone to add words to the command, "Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me . . . when you have time" "Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me. . . unless you have something more important to do" "Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me . . . unless you don't like what God is asking you to do (in other words, if you have a "better" plan). "Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me . . . unless you have family plans" Does this seem harsh? Maybe. The question is not whether or not the words a…

Does anyone here know anything about the movie "Do You Believe?" Personally, I usually care little for most movies that deal with the Bible, but this one seems to be a much better one than I've seen in a long time. It's a PG-13 film put out by Pure Flix and has been released for public viewing as of March 20, 2015. If any of you know anything about it, I'd love to read what you have to say about it.

General Douglas MacArthur's Farewell Speech Given to the Corps of Cadets at West Point May 12, 1962 General Westmoreland, General Groves, distinguished guests, and gentlemen of the Corps. As I was leaving the hotel this morning, a doorman asked me, "Where are you bound for, General?" and when I replied, "West Point," he remarked, "Beautiful place, have you ever been there before?" No human being could fail to be deeply moved by such a tribute as this, coming from a profession I have served so long and a people I have loved so well. It fills me with an emotion I cannot express. But this award is not intended primarily for a personality, but to symbolize a great mora…

Over the past few months I've been noticing the phrase"He Gets Us" popping up everywhere. I was saddened when I learned that some of the churches that were in the Southern Baptist cooperative program were using this phrase with pride, stating that it was bringing others to Christ. The sad part is that they, along with some IFB, Bible Church, Nazarene, and Churches of Christ are falling for this garbage. My feelings on this campaign are well known in the church my wife and I attend, and it's not been a popular opinion with the younger people. But, I believe this is just another attempt to humanize Christ and an attempt to tear down his being the only begotten of the Father…

"I Love My Church" Thread 1 2

I've seen a few topics lately of people complaining about the way some churches do things.... so I thought I'd start a positive topic! :Bleh How many of you go to a church that you really love? I mean... your pastor is definitely Spirit-led, your church family treats each other like a real family, you don't have any complaints about the way your church does things... For the first time in my life, I'm now at that place. Now that I'm married and serving with my husband in a church here in Ohio, I feel like I've finally found a church that I can call my "home church" without regretting it. Some things I really love about my church: 1. The preaching is very Biblica…

I had a laugh reading some of these but, some of them would be nice to see in worship services today. FROST'S LAWS AND BY-LAWS OF AMERICAN SOCIETY A CONDENSED BUT THOROUGH TREATISE ON ETIQUETTE AND ITS USAGES IN AMERICA, CONTAINING PLAIN AND RELIABLE DIRECTIONS FOR DEPORTMENT IN EVERY SITUATION IN LIFE ON THE FOLLOWING SUBJECTS: Author: Sarah Annie Frost, 1869 ETIQUETTE IN CHURCH. IN visiting a church in which you have no pew of your own, wait in the vestibule until the sexton comes to you, and request him to show you to a seat. It is extremely rude to enter a pew without invitation if it is partially filled, or without permission if it is empty. …

(By David Daniels of Chick Publications) "Remember, Remember, the fifth of November!" Guy Fawkes, Gunpowder and The Bible While the U.S. has its Fourth of July, complete with fireworks and revelry, England also has November 5 and it appears their celebration outdoes ours. All over the country “bonfire societies” field multiple parades complete with massive firework displays. . So, what is so special about November 5? It’s Guy Fawkes Day! Those who know the history of the holiday, know the significance of the “gunpowder plot” that got Fawkes and some of his buddies executed. But, if Fawkes had succeeded in igniting the fuse to 36 barrels of gunp…

I was told to post something. I thought and this was the best thing I had to keep ya'll busy. Do you think the quote "Sinner Saved By Grace" is a Biblically sound statement? I have my theory. It is probably a matter of opinion. I will give my answer later. I am in a hurry. We left Grandpa at home by himself. A big no no!

This is a PerVersion I learned about a couple days ago. Published in September 2014. Not by a committee, but by a single woman. Has JESUS returning to Earth at His Second Coming as, not Deity, but a human. i have debated with this woman in the past on the role of Bishop. She argues that the Greek, ei tis, in 1 Timothy 3:1 (translated "If a man" in the KJV) is gender-neutral, and therefore, Bishops can be male or female. She totally dismisses the "must be a husband of one wife" in verse 2, changing it to "faithful in marriage" to justify her error in verse 1. many, many other errors thought this corrupt book. Here's the link where it can be downloaded for free, o…

By Paul Harvey is an excellent book. It is probably considered a secular book, but there are many good short stories there can would make excellent Bible illustrations. It may be out of print now, but I believe it can be obtained through Amazon.com. Everyone should have this book on their book shelf. I could submit dozens of good books, but I consider "The Rest of the Story" one of my favorites.
