The pagan origin Some people say The origin of Christmas started in Babylon by Nimrod's Wife/mother claimed a evergreen tree grew overnight from a dead stump and that meant the Nimrod would come forth unto new life. On the anniversary of his birthday December 25th he would visit the tree and leave gifts on it. Then later adopted by the Catholic church in order to make "Christianity" palatable to the heathen, for in December they celebrated Saturnalia from 17th-24th and the Pagan Brumalia on the 25th to which was the Pagans' holiday of the rebirth of the sun. they called is Christ-Mass later shortened to Christmas. The Christmas/Evergreen tree Tree Linked to the pagan and …

I just hate it when people ask my kids what they are going to be for Halloween!!! And then, when the kids look at them weird and say "nothing", they look at us like we are some sort of religious-nut-child-abuser!!!! As if our kids don't already get WAY TOO MUCH candy at church and school and stuff!!!!!! Grrr. The second worst is when people say "What is Santa Claus gonna bring you?" *sigh* My kids say "My parents give us presents" and still we get that "You are mean parents" look. Oh well.

IF YOU'RE NOT READING THIS ARTICLE, PLEASE DON'T VOTE By Selwyn Duke OctOBer 23, 2010 NewsWithViews.com It has become apparent that most Americans simply don’t take voting very seriously. This is especially true of those who encourage voting. They’ll tell us that walking into a polling place and pulling a lever is our civic duty, but this isn’t true. Our civic duty is to cultivate wisdom in ourselves and become conversant with the issues; the walking and pulling part is just a natural by-product of that. Yet so many try to pull others to the polls, claiming that mass participation in the electoral process somehow makes our country better. I guess this is in the …

Glenn Beck has gone from relative OBscurity as a liberal on a liberal network to a conservative icon on a perceived-by-many conservative network in a relatively short period of time. In the process he's gained a national following and a great deal of clout. Most here at least know some about him, others know a lot. If you give careful consideration to his overall message and what he's doing, what is your take on him? Beck has a major event coming up in DC, I believe on 8/28, of which he's keeping much in secret. However, what is known of the planned event should give plenty of room for thought in itself. Following that event, there will be various events across the…

CHRISTIANS TROUBLED WHEN THEY LEARN THE TRUTH ABOUT YOGA By Marsha West OctOBer 16, 2010 NewsWithViews.com Believers are called to meditate upon the Word of God — an external Word that comes to us by divine revelation — not to meditate by means of incomprehensible syllables.” –Albert Mohler “All forms of yoga involve occult assumptions, even hatha yoga, which is often presented as a merely physical discipline.” –Douglas Groothuis Albert Mohler, President of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, got into deep weeds with devotees of “Christian yoga” over his recent article, The Subtle Body -- Should Christians Practice Yoga? Things got worse following his podc…

I thought some might be interested in reading this. It's encouraging to think that there are Christians in Congress who actually know what this country's government is supposed to be all about! Enjoy. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=39454

Helpless, hapless, and hopeless. Hopeless- reprOBates, etc. Hapless- victimized often by others and circumstances. Helpless- All of the above, and more. Those who are deeply engulfed in sin, as a fly in a spiders web. Hopeless to defeat sin in their lives; Helpless to do anything about their state; to be what God wants them to be; Hapless to have fallen so low. Helpless in our own power; Helpless to stand against Satan’s wiles; Helpless to help ourselves. Hopeless to contend with evil; Hopeless to cope with life; Hopeless to help “work things out”. Hapless to love others; Hapless to venture onward in life; Hapless to help our families woe…

During the past 30 years there have been many movements hailed as the answer for Christians and conservatives. These were proclaimed to be the means by which Christianity and traditional Americanism would be restored. Christians and conservatives flocked to them for a time. Then what? Following is a list of some of these movements: Moral Majority Reagan Revolution Republican Revolution (Gingrich congress and Contract with America) Promise Keepers (they even managed to gather between 1.5 and 3 million men on the Mall in DC) Of course there were others, including the Perot movement which spawned a new Party, but the above are prOBably most notable and recognize…

I posted this in another forum as a sort of a side thing when discussing another topic, but didn't get any replies to it. Since this isn't necessarily a Biblical question, I decided to ask here where more people will look if anyone knows where I can get one of these.

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7 Our Lord has promised never to leave us, nor forsake us. This has been a very precious verse in the lives of my wife and me over the years, and we had to often remind ourselves of the truth of it; that being said, it doesn’t mean that we will never withdraw from the Lord. Our text verse tells us that we can fail to “walk in the light” and break fellowship with the Lord as a result of it. Just as the clouds OBscure the sunlight, and turn the day into a dark, and dismal day, so can sin OBscure the ligh…

Ok, so our church has a website and we have crammed as much info on it as possible, but its not really pleasing to look at, and there are a few features that I think would be nice to add to it. www.landmarkbaptistch.com Thats our site...see what I mean! LOL I've been wanting to redo something for years, I am pretty sure with the right information I could figure out a basic site that will meet our needs, but I don't know where to start. Here are the Pages we would like. Home/welcome page Pastor's Page What we believe Ministries (Some will be a basic description, such as our Radio Ministry, others I'd like to list like our sunday school classes with photos of…

The Nut! The nut that has a hard shell surrounding its meat is protected from the elements and the prey that may desire to sift and ravage its heart. The outside, though hard and useless is often a help to the nut, a protector of its precious fruit. Hardness then is not always bad--not when it hides the fruit from evil! In our world today, we must be nuts! We must be somewhat hard on the outside, but tender and good on the inside, although the hard shell must first be cracked open to reveal its treasure. Oh what a joy the meat is when we finally crack open the hard shell! The cares of life will often harden the sweetness of the Christian, but thank God that…

Hello members- I am looking-weighing in-for an online KJV University, accredited that offers a Masters and/or Doctorate in Biblical Studies. Thanks for any help that you can offer. If you have any questions, please ask. They don't have to be 100 percent online, and as such can offer some requirement to go to campus. Thanks.

Below are 3 new tracts I have written If you can please let me know if you notice any mistakes. God bless. 2012 IS IT THE END? There are many theories about the year 2012. According to some on Dec 21st 2012 the earth will see cataclysmic events that will bring about the end of the world! So what will happen? Lets's look at a book that has prophesied the end of the world. The Bible says "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." (II Peter 3:10) Forget about 2012. You are not gua…

I am writing a tract on 2012. I would love to have a link for people to visit if they wanted more information something like www.afterdeathwhat.com /prophecy. But I have two prOBlems. The first is I need to find someone to be a webmaster for the site and I would also like to find someone knowledgeable who could write an article dealing with the prophecies in the bibles especially ones that have been fulfilled. Is there anyone out there that would like to take the challenge. If not would you please pray that I will find someone? I would also like to make a page www.afterdeathwhat.com /evolution for the Evolution tract I am working on. God bless.
