  1. I don't believe that we were primarily brought about by all of these other denominations who were protestant...ie.. using the booklet "The Trail of Blood" as a guidebook right next to the Bible. It made me feel like there was a touch of Mormonism (in their understanding of their history) and blindly following and swallowing the "Kool aid." I see the origin of the Baptists in a small remnant outside of these other denominations. Granted, these other denominations may have contributed to the makeup of what is now known as the Baptist churches, but not the root of the denomination. Many SBC churches don't hold to that position. Some are indeed very Landmarkish in their stance. Besides, 1859 was nearly two centuries ago.
  2. I can see what the Holy Spirit leads me to see. He is the one who will guide us into all truth. I used to be in the Landmark group of Baptists years ago. I found it hard to continue in their paths since they were untenable. Not all Baptists do reject it. My father held to that belief. I didn't and still don't.
  3. Again...? Again....?
  4. I have to disagree. Baptists aren't "protestant," nor are they "at odds" with anyone except those who propagate false doctrine or try to attribute things to them that aren't true. You've seemed to do both ever since you've been here.
  5. Read everything you've written. Seems to fit. Not just to @PastorMatt, but with anyone you've interacted with. I never saw Jesus complaining and acting foolishly. You need to start practicing what you allege you're preaching/teaching.
  6. You show a true lack of character, Christian or otherwise. You don't seem to be able to accept when someone has seen your true intentions and calls you on it. You come back with "unChristlike" or "unloving." You're still trying to justify bad behavior. I don't believe Christ would have done that. ??
  7. Praying, and excited for y'all!
  8. You've continued to bluster and bloviate, and have shown your lack of Christlikeness in posting private communications to try and justify your bad behavior. There's no way I could ever take you seriously. This is a kind of thing we found in the Garden between the serpent, Eve, and Adam, which ended with Adam trying to justify his actions by deflection. Your offer to make amends, as you believe it to be, rings very hollow as there is no real substance to it.
  9. Still trying to play the victim, I see. My private communication with you wasn't a reprimand, but a heads up on the rules. Even then you made excuses on how you could skirt the rules. I believe you'll find the moderators and administrators in agreement on the use of the KJV on these forums. But, you continue to show your true character and intentions, Robert.
  10. I have no need for a “red herring.” And I don’t believe it’s unChristlike to question your motivation. No rudeness was involved, but being frank with you seems to be the order of business. It was clear, even in our private conversations, that you were trying to make excuses about how when you were "quoting" a source, you didn't have to use the KJV....sorry...that just didn't cut it. So, apparently, you're not as "highly respectful" of protocol as you state you are. You've also been quite lacking in protocol towards not only the moderators here but the administrator as well from what I have seen. From what I've seen you've only "amended" your ways when you've been called on it by a moderator. I wonder how much longer you're going to try and make excuses for yourself? I bet more have stayed than have left, and more have had less of a victim mentality than you have had since you've been here. You state that I am casting doubt on your motive for this thread...you're correct...I am, especially when in it you seem to be accusing others of exactly what you are doing, and then again...playing the victim...Believe me, Robert, you are no victim. I've not shown abuse, but, I have shown a willingness to stand up to your abuse of others and of the forum rules, and your continued "I am the victim" mentality. To be honest, I see this as the pot calling the kettle black. It remains incumbent on you as a long term minister of the gospel to conduct yourself as Christ would, and I've seen very little of that from you. My pointing this out isn't hateful and isn't meant to be so. As I stated before several times, I have nothing against you personally. We may not agree on doctrine, and when doctrinal issues such as dispensationalism, which is a Baptist position for most of us is being attacked, I will "stand my ground," and defend it. Remove the beam from your own eye, brother, before you start in on all of us here. Maybe you need to be hearing and reading what you've written and applying it to your own life first. I want to sincerely ask why? Because it's complimentary to you instead of questioning you on motives and attacks on the doctrinal positions of most Baptists. Once again, this IS a Baptist site, and you yourself have stated you're not a Baptist, and you hold no denominational affiliation. I'm speaking for myself here, but I may be speaking for some others as well...I know I would be interesting in reading some of your evangelistic postings.
  11. We got to see a lot of the evening sun peeking through the tree branches this early Spring ?. This is one of my favorite trees in the neighborhood.
  12. Well, we're praying this baby doesn't keep momma or grandma waiting to awfully long. ? We know y'all are ready for his arrival!
  13. We can persuade, but, the Holy Spirit has to convince and convict when it comes to salvation. Being persuasive in getting people to live lives pleasing to the Lord is something every Christian should aspire to.
  14. We're so excited for you! You can bet everyone involved is in our prayers.
  15. First, you may want to read your post again yourself. Second, if you look in the mirror you'll see you're NOT Jesus. You, my friend, are Robert. Third,my rolling my eyes is in response to your continued posting of positions you know will incite here on these forums and a willful ignoring of a legitimate question in response to your own post saying dispensationalism discounts much of the church in Revelations.
  16. Answering a question with a question to divert everyone attention from the fact you've got no answer is beneath you, sir. Try again. :: ROLLING EYES::
  17. Yesterday while I was getting my MRI in Franklin, Tennessee, we received word that we had a "former" extended family member pass away. My brothers ex-mother-in-law passed away in her mid 80s. My nephew posted a notice of her death. We haven't seen Nellie in several years, but, she was always a kind, loving woman who worked as a waitress in an area restaurant here for many years. We believe she was saved and that we will be seeing her again later on. My ex-sister-in-law lives here in town, and she was very close to her mother, so I know that she is taking this hard. Please pray for her, her husband, and for our nephews Chad and Lance, and our niece, Lindsey. This morning we were notified that my brother-in-laws wife (his second wife...my sister passed away and he remarried a wonderful Christian woman), lost her oldest son. He was in his late 20's or early 30's. It's we were told that he knows the Lord. We're thankful that this provides some comfort during this time of bereavement. Please keep my s-i-l, Donna and brother-in-law, Jeff in your prayers. I'm sure they would appreciate it. Our family has experienced heavy losses over the past five years. It brings to light our need for a blessed hope. It also brings to light our need to witness because time is limited and the fields are white unto harvest. Thank you for your prayers. BT
  18. I get some beautiful views just outside my kitchen window, and even while I'm sitting out on our front porch in the mornings and evenings. God's really got a great way of painting the sky that blows me away!
  19. Just how does it make Revelation irrelevant to the Church? Listen, brother, you've got your views, and you might find that most here have a dispensationalist position. Remember, you're on a BAPTIST board, not an interdenom or non-denom board.
  20. The exhortation is appreciated...that being said, I wonder about and question your motivation, which is only natural considering the way you entered OnlineBaptist.com. Your oft attempts to skirt the rules though others had tried to keep you on track, and then having to be told by moderators several times to cease and desist certain actions. To me, if you've been in ministry for that long of a period of time you would have developed a thicker skin and would have stopped showing the "victim" mentality which seems to be showing again in this post....unless, of course, I'm reading you wrong. Remember, you aren't a Baptist, and this IS a Baptist board. That being said, @PastorMatt has allowed many people who aren't Baptist to be here. I don't think anyone objects to that. They do, however, object to unethical and unbiblical interpretations of scripture to fit one's own ideology. May I make an honest suggestion here? You might want to go back over your OP and try to act accordingly before admonishing others to do so. I think they call that trying to tell others how to live while the beam in their own eye is blocking the view. To be honest, Robert, I have nothing personal against you, and I never will. Your posting here has allowed many to start making their stands known, and their defense of the Bible a priority. That's always a good thing, since all have to study to come to the defense of scripture. I hope you have a great day, and that the Lord will use you to lead others to him. By the way, I don't recall you mentioning in any of your postings how many people you've witnessed to about the Lord Jesus Christ, or even how many you've possibly led to him. I think all here would be interested in knowing more about your approach to presenting Christ. BT
  21. Yes, sir, they were! I had just about given up on Bible colleges after my experiences with Fellowship Baptist College, but, my the youth pastor at the church I grew up in was a Maranatha grad...and he saw that I was in despair because of the events surrounding my college education and recommended MBBC...he even took me up there that summer to look for work and to get situated in the dorms.
  22. We purchase many things in bulk. We have saved a lot of money and time buying that way.
  23. I regretted going to the first Bible college I went to. There was a lot of political wrangling going on because of the pastors, (also the president of the college and fellowship they formed), and the pastor and his wife separated and divorced during my first semester there. I was thankful for Maranatha, though.
