  1. We give as well, but have started giving directly to missionaries instead of letting the church give our tithes and offerings over to the cooperative.
  2. You are giving your opinion of how the SBC affiliated churches give to and distribute funds to missionaries. You forget that I, too, have been a member in both systems. In the SBC affiliated churches, each church decides what percentage, if any at all, they will send to the cooperative entities, ie, the North American Missions Board (NAMB) and the International Missions Board (IMB), and others like the Gideon's, etc. Granted, there are starting to be problems with these entities, especially the NAMB. Under the leadership of Kevin Ezell mission start-ups in the USA have dropped dramatically, while a good deal of the funds have been used to line the pockets of Ezell and his cronies, for the attorneys fees used to protect the NAMB from the lawsuit for overstepping their boundaries and trying to make the SBC a TRUE denomination such as the Presbyterians, Episcopalians, Lutherans, and Catholics, with himself as a "Pope" having the authority to hire and fire missions directors at the state and local levels. He and the ERLC have submitted FALSE information before the SCOTUS, and the Circuit Court of Appeals, misusing funds to this date. That's one reason my wife and I are searching for an IFB church again. But, then, the IFB churches have their own troubles in the area of missions giving when monies go through a missions board like Baptist Mid Missions and others instead of directly to the missionaries. So, just to be clear again, Eddie, you're showing a lot of interest in what other churches do as far as giving. Your constant attention to money is disturbing, especially when it's not in your own church. No way of giving is ever going to be perfect or without problems. Let's just be happy that many are still giving and supporting missions.
  3. Please tell us that you haven't fallen for that teaching... I've got 4 college educated friends who are preaching this theory.
  4. If I spoke better Spanish, was in better health, and had the drawing towards the Hispanic population that I used to have, I would love to help in Washington State. We're praying for y'all there.
  5. For us this evening, we're having steamed cabbage and homemade cornbread. For dessert we are having fresh butternut squash pie .
  6. We wanted a garden this year, but, I guess it's not to be. With all the health challenges we're experiencing, and with my wife working 40+ hours at CEVA, and me working with the dogs all day, we just don't have the chance to do it. Besides, we don't have a plow or a tiller. We're probably going to be visiting the farmers markets. We've got two blueberry bushes we planted last year. They're still alive and look healthy. The two blackberry bushes succumbed to the bad winter, birds and windstorms. Maybe next year, and maybe in South Carolina.
  7. Being Hispanic, it might be that the Lord is showing this to you so that you can establish the Hispanic services in an IFB church. I know here the only IFB churches that I can think of that have services in Spanish are Victory Baptist in Shelbyville, and Franklin Road Baptist Church in Murfreesboro. They truly are few and far between.
  8. That might be a consideration for me!
  9. Many churches have a member directory. You could always ask them if they're members if in doubt. It really shouldn't be as difficult as you're assuming it is.
  10. I've NEVER hugged a tree and don't intend to start! LOL
  11. Alter calls don't necessarily produce converts, true or false ones. Baptisms are public, so I have to question how you wouldn't know who is or isn't baptized.
  12. Haven't heard any CREDIBLE sources saying this... just a bunch of conspiracy nuts. LOL
  13. I'm sorry that you're experiencing such hardship. But, doing wrong, especially when you KNOW that it is wrong, and making excuses for doing so is only more proof that you are NOT trying to do that which is right and acceptable by the Lord. As Jerry has pointed out, whatever is not of faith is sin. Without faith it's IMPOSSIBLE to please God. I'm going to be blunt here...you continue to jump from one evil to the next saying that you know it's wrong, all the while also posting that you're relying on God. In this I find you to be a liar and of no more need of response from me. The constant posting of your sins here bring you to the classification of an internet troll in my book. If you have no money, how are you paying for Internet service? How do you move from place to place with no funds? I'm sorry, but, I'm not buying it.
  14. Have you EVER done a study on what the Bible says about money, Kienyui? Sometimes some of the questions and situations you present here seem strange, and like you are looking for an excuse to do sinful things.
  15. Me, too! I turned 62 last week, so I am officially "OLD!"
  16. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
  17. I'm not sure, but I think he may have been booted.
  18. Scripture is supposed to be King James. You have been asked to correct this before.
  19. The Bible foretells, documents, and teaches not only his death, but his burial and resurrection and ascension into Heaven where he intercedes for us.
  20. Hell ..a LITERAL, REAL, hot place of torment. I'll take what the Bible teaches over your JW heresy anytime.
  21. This has been proven FALSE time and again. The Bible tells us to remove ourselves from conversations with fools and doctrines of demons. Have fun, thinking, because it's clear that you have no capability or intention of "thinking."
  22. You really need to brush up on reality, because from your answers it's clear you're not living in it...the principle is all throughout scripture...the theophony appearing to Abraham, and many others refute your JW dogma and prove it and you a liar.
  23. I didn't take it as an attack, believe me. I just wanted to clarify my position. The KJV is my preferred translation. I grew up with it, have always used it in my preaching, teaching, and writing. I use the MVs at times as commentary.
