Hiya!!! Hey, I'm totally cool...lol! (Boy did my age just stick out!) with this converstaion. I'm not trying to be ugly at all. I do agree whole heartily that salvation is the "main thing" to 'worry' about and that there will be somewhat of a selection of differant religions there because it isn't the religion that saves you but Jesus and His blood. However, I do believe that Baptists are the most common preachers of true salvation...
Here at my church we teach strongly to go to whatever church God tells you to. A church that, number one, preaches the Gospel. Then we sometimes say, "But I'm pretty sure that it'll be a Baptist church!" lol! But again, we don't make that out to be the "only option" per say. I don't generally "fight" (for lack of a better word) the Baptist battle because, like it's already been stated, salvation is number one and the only thing needed to worry about when it comes to Heaven. But I do in places like this, OB because we're mostly Baptists here and I thought it was the natural place to say, take a stand. Does that make sense?
As for saying that Christ founded the Baptists. True He never said "This is my church, the BAPTIST church." But John the Baptist was John the BAPTIST and I believe for a reason. I have heard of a couple churches ( I think in Europe) where they can date back to Paul. Not that church exactly but from person to person...you know what I mean. lol! So I actually believe that I have a much better ground to stand on than the Catholics when I say Christ founded my church.
Ok, I think I'm done for now!
:truce: :dead: :foot: :humble: :2cents
Hey, we've got some new and really funny emoticons!!! LoL! Cooly!!!
Anyways...

ps
here's a cute way to put the Baptist idea
"You can get to heaven without being a Baptist but if you're going, you'd might as well do it FIRST CLASS!!!"

I voted for Independent Fundamental Baptist. When in a conversation, I refer to myself simply as a Baptist though. First and foremost, I am a Christian. Secondly, I am a Fundamentalist. Thirdly, I'm a Baptist. :thumb
