Members Marcus2Israel Posted November 26, 2007 Members Posted November 26, 2007 If you havn't you should! I have 2 hymnals one that is from the 1940's and those Hymn's are simply amazing! If you ever wanna find that you havn't heard before (That aren't from the contemporary musicians...) just take a Hymnal and look through it theres tons of awesome songs! Quote
Guest Guest Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 If you really want some old hymns you never heard before, try a hymnal from the 1800's or early 1900's. I have a couple and it is interesting the totally different way the hymnal is laid out, for example, no songs are titled. It makes it interesting to find stuff... Quote
Members PreacherBen Posted November 27, 2007 Members Posted November 27, 2007 We have two at home that we use. Our favority is the Christian Hymnary. You can check it out here:http://www.heritagemusic.org/books.php The other is the one alot of Bob Jones folks use, Great Hymns of the Faith.http://www.worshipmusic.com/2598655377.html The Christian Hymnary has some hymns from the 1500's brought over from German. There are some great, doctrinal, songs. Quote
