Discussion board blues

You join or start a discussion topic that you are interested in. Boy oh boy, this will be fun and I’m going to learn a lot. There are several people in the discussion and their input is helpful. There are some disagreements, but the answers have bible verses to back them up. Huh, I never thought of that. So far so good. You can navigate this. Then, out of the blue, some guy joins with crazy opinions. Black is white, up is down, light is dark, and there is no sky. Wait? What? No amount of bible seems to dent this guy. Then this guy starts insulting everybody on the thread. Suddenly the thread has been derailed, and you are frustrated. This seems to happen every time.

May I introduce you to the Ignored Users feature. Click on your name in the upper right corner and select Ignored Users from the drop-down menu and add the name of the idiot that has no business on your thread or of calling himself a Christian for that matter. Don’t feel bad about it. You are not the problem, he is, unless you end up ignoring everybody, then maybe it is you.

I've used this on one or two on these forums a long while back. It's a great idea for the peace of the board and the peace of mind that comes with not having to deal with unscriptural doctrine being introduced. Still, there are times when such needs to be addressed. Moderators and Administrators are best at handling this, and these things should be brought to their attention.
